My Review of Star Wars: The Visual Encyclopedia

Ever since the Star Wars: The Visual Encyclopedia came out earlier this year I have been so excited to finally own it. And now that I have it I can honestly say that is one of the coolest books I have ever owned. This encyclopedia is absolutely packed with content. I mean filled to the rim, from the front to the back.

There is a huge section on the planets in the universe.

Look at all of these planets!

And I ended up finding out some incredible facts. Like the planet Bespin, for example. Ever since I first saw the Cloud City and all of those beautiful clouds I used to imagine an entire world beneath the city. I had no idea that the planet entirely consisted of gas. That is mind-blowing and now I see Bespin in a whole different light.

There are other fascinating topics the encyclopedia explores such as exploring the details of the clothes minor and important characters wear.

Isn’t this amazing?

They also go into depth about the politics of each era in Star Wars’ history and they have sections explaining the key players in all of the eras, even the newest struggle between the First Order and the Resistance.

I loved looking at the senators of the New Republic.

And they even talk about all of the lightsabers that have been seen throughout the Star Wars films and tv shows.

I never realized how different lightsabers can be.

This encyclopedia is absolutely incredible. They don’t leave anything out in this book. They even go as far as explaining the musical instruments, food, and even communication devices in the Star Wars universe, which is fascinating, to say the least.

If you have been thinking about possibly getting this encyclopedia I advise you to because this book is worth the investment. There are 2500 images and there are so many facts that I am still discovering stuff and I’ve had the book for weeks. It’s really that incredible. If you are a Star Wars fan this has to become part of your Star Wars memorabilia.

I thank you for reading my review and I hope you have a wonderful day.

  1. Hello Annlyel, I have an earlier edition of this book and it is fantastic. And as an added bit of info, Bespin’s cloud is a gas called Tibanna and this gas is used in the ammunition for blasters. The gas is compressed and Ionised then launched as a projectile. Different quality of gas results in either green or red “laser bolts”. I am going to have to get a copy of this book though just for the lightsabers! Thanks for a great review.

      1. Hello again, no problem, I learnt about the gas while researching for my lightsaber designs I create. You can also read a little bit about Tibanna gas in the novel “Thrawn” by Timothy Zahn.
