My First NBA Game!

So I was visiting some family up in Cleveland, Ohio and it just so happened that I was in town when the Cleveland Cavaliers had a home game against the Chicago Bulls and so it was only logical to go see the game. And all I can say is it was the best way to be introduced to my first NBA game. I mean I literally saw Lebron James, in person, playing on Tuesday night with my own eyeballs. That’s incredible! So anyway, I’m here to share my wonderful experience and I hope you enjoy.

So first of all, it was a beautiful day in Cleveland, there was a short downpour as my family and I were finding parking that produced two gigantic rainbows, and we ended up getting a great parking space basically right around the corner from the stadium. Score!

Once we parked we headed to the Quicken Loans Arena and I took some pictures along the way.

Aren’t these some awesome rocks?!

These incredibly special rocks were right across the street from where we parked and I just had to take a picture.

This is me standing by a statue in front of Progressive Field.

There was no way I was going to pass by the first major league baseball stadium that I’ve ever seen without taking a photo in front of it. It was simply stunning seeing how large the stadium was.

The Progressive Field

Now when I see a baseball game and the hitters make a home run I now know how special that is. That is a very long way to hit a ball.

So then we walked around the Progressive Field, the long way I might add, and we finally reached the Quicken Loans Arena. I was so excited!

It’s The Quicken Loans Arena!!!

I don’t know how many times I had seen the stadium on tv when I watched the Cavaliers play and just wondered what it would be like to be there watching the game live. Well, I found out. And it was so much fun!

But anyway, I’ll get to that later, I was here in front of the Quickens Loan Arena and it was about thirty minutes until we could get our tickets. Now the stadium is near the lake and so the wind was brutal. We had to find a place to get warm and so thankfully we went around the stadium and found an open entrance that just so happened to be the spot where we get our tickets and we go into the stadium.

So we waited for a little while and were finally able to go into the stadium. The first thing we did was we went to the Team Store and we got some merchandise. After my sister and I changed into our Cavaliers sweatshirts this really nice man allowed us to go down to where the floor was so we can see the players up close.

We were having the best night ever!

Then you see that guy in the orange in the background. He told us to go over and get some autographs and so, of course, we did that and we took some great pictures too.

This was another picture of the floor.

When this picture was taken Kevin Love had just been out warming up and we got to see him practicing and we got to see him run by. I literally saw Kevin Love no more than ten feet away. Wow!

J.R Smith comes out to clap some hands and start warming up.

J.R is the really tall man with the headphones in the picture. We were even closer to the floor at this point and my sister and I were in the row behind where J.R Smith came to clap the fans’ hands. Then shortly after him, Kyle Korver came out and as he left to go back into the locker I was able to get an autograph from him.

Here’s my special autographing booklet.

And here’s the actual autograph.

He autographed my booklet! Yay!

So…that was amazing! Shortly thereafter J.R Smith left the floor and the autographing session was over. I was a little bummed because I was just hoping that Lebron James would come out but he didn’t so, oh well.

We left that section of the stadium and took the escalator up to the next floor where our section was after we got some sodas to drink. Then we found our seats and watched the game.

I was absolutely fascinated and awestruck and just simply thrilled to be there at the game. I was clapping so hard that by the end of the game my hands were slightly sore. And there was so much noise and it was such a fun atmosphere that I’m just excited to go my next sports event because I’m a huge sports fan and it’s even better to watch sports in person.

After the Cavaliers managed to beat the Bulls we headed back downstairs and right at the bottom of the escalator was a picture of Lebron James, so naturally, I had to take a photo.

cleve will heard
I’m pointing at…The King.

I had an absolute blast at that game. Being able to see Lebron play in person I was really able to understand how much better a player he is than other NBA players and that is just incredible. He really is one of the best players ever to play the sport of basketball and I’m just thankful to have been able to see him play when he’s still in his heyday.

We then left the stadium shortly thereafter and I went to bed that night with a broad smile on my face.

This experience is one I’ll never forget and I’m just excited to maybe one day see the Golden State Warriors play. That’ll be another experience that I’ll treasure for life.

I hope you enjoyed reading about time to my first NBA game and I thank you for reading. Have a wonderful day.

  1. I apologise as it was a bit of an unfair question as Curry and LeBron play different positions but I just wondered! I used to be a goalkeeper for a local soccer team so can appreciate both of their skills but some of the things I’ve seen Steph do were off the hook. In one play he made a cross court dribble under the basket then threw a hook type shot back over his shoulder with his back to the basket. It brushed the glass and dropped in…he couldn’t even see the target! Overall though I think they both come out even.
