The Ten Best Scenes in Marvel

Over nine glorious years Marvel Studios have accumulated seventeen films and counting and the amazing thing is most of them are pretty good. Last week I wrote a post about my five favorite scenes in Star Wars and after an Avengers: Infinity War teaser debuted last Wednesday it got me thinking, “What are my favorite scenes out of all of the Marvel films so far”? Well, I’m about to share with you the ten scenes that have really made me love Marvel’s fantastic superhero flicks. Enjoy!

10. When Thor, Bruce Banner, and Valkyrie Escape Sakaar

Thor: Ragnarok was one of the best Marvel films made so far and my favorite part of the film was when Thor and co. had to escape Sakaar. First, it was fabulous seeing Valkyrie in action. She could fly a ship pretty well but when she decided to take on their attackers with her bare hands the action scene became just that much better. And then when Thor joined her they became the ultimate Asgardian duo. It plastered a smile on my face and became one of my favorite scenes in Marvel.

9. The Airport Battle

Captain America: Civil War is clearly one of the best films in the Marvel lineup and for good reason. The battle between the two sides of heroes was not only a blast to watch but it brought one of the best surprises that has happened so far, Ant-Man becoming a giant. I remember when I watched it for the first time I hollered. That’s how amazing it was! And seeing Spider-Man fighting Captain America is pretty incredible. This is definitely one of the best scenes ever made out of all of the movies.

8. The Black Panther Chase

Black Panther’s debut in Captain America: Civil War is clearly one of the best debuts so far and this action scene confirms that. First, Bucky is a pretty tough guy and yet Black Panther was able to defeat him pretty easily. Secondly, who doesn’t love a good car chase? Seeing Black Panther’s skills be put to the test as he chased Bucky through the tunnel was fascinating. He’s also just a very cool character and any action with the Black Panther is awesome to me.

7. Captain America/Iron Man Showdown

It already was a shock when I found out that Bucky had killed Stark’s parents but the fight between Captain America and Iron Man was disturbingly intense. Here were these two friends who had fought alongside each other for years and thanks to some revenge-stricken Sokovian they ended up fighting each other as if they were the worst of enemies. Bucky’s arm was blown off and it seemed like Captain America and Iron Man were going to fight to the death. I still remember how I felt when I saw this scene for the first time. I watched it all in silent horror. Especially when it seemed like Steve Rogers was about to kill Tony. It was definitely the most shocking ending of a Marvel film and it looks like the aftereffects will still be felt by the time Avengers: Infinity War comes around.

6. Captain America vs. The Winter Soldier

There were a lot of wonderful scenes in Captain America: The Winter Soldier but the first major fight between Steve Rogers and his, at the time, unknown friend Bucky is simply incredible. Captain America’s exhaustion was very apparent and it resulted in a wonderfully gritty battle. The choreography wasn’t fancy or pretty. It instead was realistically crude and I loved that about this duel. The cinematography is also five stars at this part because it follows the two so well. It’s as if you’re part of the fight as well. This is definitely one of the best scenes I have ever seen in Marvel.

5. The Ancient One Fights Kaecilius and his Disciples

Doctor Strange has one of the best beginnings out of all of the seventeen Marvel films because it lets you know that this is going to be a different movie instantly. The Ancient One is undoubtedly one of the best characters in Marvel and I wish she had had more involvement in the actual movie. When she faces Kaecilius and his followers it’s magnificent to see how powerful she is. She takes down her foes so easily that you don’t even have to wonder who the master is in that situation. The music at that part is also very incredible. If they could make a stand-alone film about The Ancient One I would be a very pleased woman because I know it would be amazing.

4. Captain America vs. S.H.I.E.L.D

I watched Captain America: The Winter Soldier four times in the movie theaters and I don’t know why but the scene when Captain America faces off against the plane as he’s escaping S.H.I.E.L.D makes me very, very happy. Maybe the music is the reason why I love that scene so much. In fact I know it’s the music. Captain America: The Winter Soldier has one of the best movie soundtracks Marvel has made so far and the music really shines at this part. This scene might be short but it gives me chills every time.

3. The Guardians of the Galaxy Absorb The Power of the Infinity Stone

Up to the point in the movie when Star-Lord grabs the infinity stone everything was kind of silly and didn’t feel that serious or dire. That part is the moment that really defined the Guardians the Galaxy as the remarkable heroes of, well, the galaxy. They were strong individually but together they became a force that could defeat the likes of a being as powerful as Ronin. It’s also an emotional moment when Peter’s in the middle of literally peeling away from the strength of the stone and as Gamora screams for him to take her hand he sees his mother reaching out for him. I think I got teary the first time I watched that scene. All in all, that is my favorite part of Guardians of the Galaxy and it’s my third favorite scene out of all of the Marvel films.

2. The End of The Avengers

The Avengers changed the world when it took six major superheroes Marvel Studios had already introduced in previous films and brought them all together to fight an alien invasion unlike anything they had faced before. Not only was the movie perfect but the end was literally the best part of the film! I love it when Nick Fury is talking to the S.H.I.E.L.D committee about how important it is to have these incredible heroes together as a team. The Avengers theme is playing and the heroes are shown going their own separate ways. When it zooms out on the half-destroyed Stark Building and the theme reaches its climax I always get massive chills. Especially that the only letter that is left on the building is the letter A which ultimately symbolizes The Avengers. I’m getting chills just thinking about it. It, to me, is the best ending of a Marvel film and will always have a special place in my heart.

1. Spider-Man Is Inducted Into The Avengers

Bringing Spider-Man to the MCU was a genius move and to see him become an Avenger is undoubtedly my favorite scene out of all of the seventeen films. Not only is it a special moment for the wall-climbing hero but seeing his new Iron-Spidey suit is the icing on the already fabulous cake.

I mean look at that suit. It’s so beautiful and now, thanks to the Avengers: Infinity War teaser, I’ve seen it in action. Spider-Man as an Avenger is one of the coolest things that has ever happened in the MCU and I’m so glad I’ve been able to see it come to fruition.

Well, these are the ten scenes that I think are the best out of all seventeen Marvel films. I thank you for reading and I hope you have a beautiful day.
