My Opinion of the ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ Trailer

I was one of the millions of people who went and saw Jurassic World two years ago and for the most part, I enjoyed it. It was a fantastic monster movie and that’s what I was expecting when I went to see it. I remember after I finished seeing it the movie began to sink in and I realized how exactly terrible the film really was. The female lead was never rid of her high heels, even as she ran through mud and got chased by dinosaurs. The children in the movie weren’t as lovable as the original kids in the first Jurassic Park. Chris Pratt was okay, he never got on my nerves in the film, but overall it definitely was an unfortunate failed attempt at jolting the franchise back to life. Surprisingly, it made a whole lot of money despite its decency and ended up becoming the fourth highest-grossing film of all time.

Now it’s been two and a half years since Jurassic World came out and during yesterday night’s football game a trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom debuted. Here it is.

I saw this trailer and I have to say, it did not excite me at all. There were a whole bunch of clips showcasing baby dinosaurs, giant, ferocious dinosaurs, and everyone’s favorite T-rex but there just wasn’t anything that wowed me about this trailer.

Yes, it looks like the situation this time around is a little bleaker but it still looks like it will be another one of those sequels that couldn’t surpass its predecessor. I am glad to see that at least the lady is wearing more appropriate clothing in this film. That’s a welcome upgrade.

I wish I could say this trailer made me very excited to see this film next June but unfortunately it didn’t. Maybe once I see the trailer in IMAX I’ll have a very different opinion on it but I probably won’t.

Well, I thank you for reading my review of this trailer and I hope you have a fantastic day.

  1. I didn’t take the first one seriously, so her being in high heels the whole time didn’t bother me- it just felt like part of the joke, or something. This second movie looks confusing, though. All over the place. I’m not sure what it’ll be like.

    1. Exactly. This trailer isn’t focusing on one specific plotline. The creators of this film said to themselves, “Let’s just throw a whole bunch of different dinosaurs into this film and let’s hope people enjoy it.” That’s a shame and I wish the trailer had been better that it was.

  2. I feel the same as you,the trailer just didn’t excite me at all. I’m hoping they keep the big reveal of the actual plot until the film’s release. Chris Pratt tweeted after the trailer was released that everything you see in the trailer happens in the first half of the film.
