We will undoubtedly see a teaser for Solo in at least the next couple of weeks (I hope) and so, in anticipation for the new Star Wars film, here are the things I hope to see in the teaser that’ll hopefully get me a tad bit excited to see this movie.
Chewbacca will undoubtedly be a major part of the Solo movie considering he’s been Han’s friend for so many long years and what would be more exciting than seeing the iconic Wookie grace the teaser with at least one fantastic Wookie cry? This movie will probably showcase how the charming smuggler and hairy alien became inseparable buddies and I can’t wait to see Han’s reaction when he first meets Chewie. I bet it’ll be one of the highlights of the film for me.
2. Lando Calrissian
Another iconic Star Wars character that will be in this movie will be Lando Calrissean and that’s exciting. He wasn’t a major character in either The Empire Strikes Back or Return of the Jedi but he placed his stamp on the trilogy by being the only person of color in those three movies and having such an unforgettable personality that he became an instant fan favorite. Now Donald Glover, writer, creator, and actor in the hit FX series, Atlanta, is going to replace Billy Dee Williams as the smooth smuggler and I’m very skeptical.
Billy Dee Williams’ performance as Lando was impeccable and is going to be very difficult to replicate. Maybe one or two shots of Donald Glover’s version of Lando in the teaser will relieve me of my worries. Like maybe they could show a quick shot of him piloting the Millenium Falcon. That would be very exciting. All in all, I’m just hoping he doesn’t look corny.
3. Woody Harrelson’s Character, Beckett
Woody Harrelson is a remarkable actor so when I heard he was going to be in the Solo movie and he was going to play Han’s mentor I was definitely excited. The characters Woody Harrelson usually plays are horrible individuals. I mean think about his role in War for the Planet of the Apes. He was a truly horrendous and heartless human being. To think he’ll bring that sort of attitude to a Star Wars film is exciting and I’m sure will bring a darkness to the movie that’ll hopefully make it gritty like Rogue One. The teaser doesn’t exactly have to have a shot of Beckett in it but I would love to see the vibe he gives off.
4. Emilia Clarke’s Character, Kira
There is absolutely zero information on who Kira will be in the movie but I’m sure she’s a major character in the film which means there’s little doubt that she will be in the teaser. I would love to see in the teaser a moment of her in action to immediately give the impression that she’s going to be yet another kick-butt heroine in Star Wars but any other shot of her will suffice.
4. The Beautiful Locations
It’s always fascinating watching a new Star Wars teaser and seeing a new planet or location. Like The Last Jedi for example. When I saw the teaser for the first time and saw the gorgeous planet of Crait I was absolutely baffled by the planet’s originality and the stunning red sand. In a word, it was cool. I’m hoping the teaser will show us at least one shot of Han’s world, Corellia, as well as some other, hopefully impressive and original looking locations.
5. The Villain
One thing about the Solo movie is it has been successfully kept highly under wraps. I mean, who is the villain going to be? Will there even be a main villain in this movie? I really want to see a shot of the antagonist, or antagonists, of this movie because that’s always intriguing. I remember when I saw Director Krennic for the first time in the Rogue One teaser. He was so intimidating with his long white cape. I’m hoping this movie will present the franchise’s first bounty hunter, smuggler, or crime lord as the main villain because not only would that be different but it would also be very cool.
6. Han Solo, of course
The movie is literally called Solo so there’s no doubt there will be several shots of the young smuggler. The question is, will Alden Ehrenreich’s version of Han Solo convince me or will he look too much not like Harrison Ford that I won’t be able to look at the teaser without getting slightly upset? It’s a huge responsibility playing Han Solo and I’m hoping LucasFilm knew what they were doing when they cast Alden Ehrenreich.
I would love to see him emit some of that wise-cracking charm Han Solo has in the movies at least one time in the teaser. That would probably be exciting.
7. And finally, the Millenium Falcon
You can’t have a Solo teaser without a fascinating and exhilarating shot of the Millenium Falcon in it and I know this teaser will not disappoint. The Millenium Falcon is as important a character as Han Solo and a shot of the iconic ship will undoubtedly make my heart hum with joy.
Well, these are the things I’m hoping to see in the teaser. I thank you for reading and I hope you have a glorious day. May the Force Be With You.
