What I Would Love To See From the Disney/Fox Merge

The Avengers-era is quickly coming to an end and that means the people behind the Marvel machine have to come up with new ideas to keep the Marvel movies cranking out every year while preventing the franchise from becoming stale to moviegoers. Well, now that Disney has bought Fox it’s inevitable that some of Fox’s assets will definitely be embraced in the MCU such as the X-Men. Ever since the first Avengers film I have hoped and dreamed for the moguls behind Marvel Studios to bring their superhero expertise to that side of the superhero world.

I’ve only watched a couple of X-Men films (X-Men: Days of Future Past and Logan) and I found both of them to be very dry and boring. I preferred Days of Future Past over Logan because at least it was an interesting story and it had me engaged whereas Logan was simply a giant, never-ending love letter to Hugh Jackman’s retiring of the mantel, Wolverine.

Now that Disney has bought Fox however I foresee some great ideas that could be brought to the MCU and I’m here to share them with you. Enjoy!

1. The Fantastic Four

As a child I absolutely loved the Fantastic Four. They were the ultimate superheroes and I loved their first movie. A few years ago they tried to make another version of the quadruple super team and it was an utter flop. Now the MCU has taken over Fox and one of the assets I would love to see them utilize would be the Fantastic Four.

One of the reasons why these Marvel films have been able to continue on for ten years straight is because of the actors they’ve gotten for the roles. Robert Downey Jr. embodied Iron Man so well I can’t imagine anyone else in the role. Chris Evans is Captain America. They got Benedict Cumberbatch to play Doctor Strange?! Genius The list could go on and on but you get the point. Marvel’s casting has been on point in every film they’ve made so far (besides The Incredible Hulk but that’s a whole other story.)

I would love to see what the new Marvel version of the Fantastic Four would look like because I know for a fact it would be incredible. And imagining them alongside superheroes such as Doctor Strange or Black Panther sounds even more amazing.

2. A Storm Movie

Storm was the first female superhero I ever knew as a child and for a while she was my favorite superhero. Not only was she amazing because she was a black female superhero but she always fascinated me with her white hair, the glowing eyes, and her superpower, the ability to control lightning and so forth was so AWESOME to me.

In the Black Panther comic books she’s already a central figure as King T’Challa’s love interest so she already has one foot in the Marvel door with that. I would not be surprised in the slightest if we see this marvelous character anytime soon.

Marvel, instead of introducing her in someone else’s movie, should make her debut standout as the first black female superhero to have her own movie. They’re already making history with Black Panther and Captain Marvel so why not let Storm make a little history of her own as well.

No matter how they introduce her, however, I simply can’t wait to see her in the MCU.

3. The X-Men join The Avengers

I don’t know the X-Men very well but I do know one thing, if they joined the MCU it would be off the chain! Can you imagine the likes of Ant-Man alongside Beast, or Scarlet Witch fighting alongside Jean Grey? Or, as Chris Hemsworth keeps saying he wants to see, Wolverine fighting beside Thor. That sounds downright epic!

Hopefully Marvel is thinking like me and will bring these ideas to life because that will definitely ensure another ten years of very happy Marvel viewers.

Well, these are the things I hope come to fruition sooner rather than later but until then I’m counting down the days until Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War because those movies are going to be so much fun to watch. 🙂

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day.
