‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Wows Again With This Full Teaser

Last night during the Super Bowl (by the way, GREAT JOB EAGLES!!!!!!) a teaser for Solo debuted and I kind of lost my mind for a second. The teaser was everything that I was hoping for…and more! And just now on Good Morning America they debuted the official teaser and I have to say, it is amazing!!!!

Okay, like I said before, this teaser is amazing. I was skeptical about this movie since it was announced and I thought Disney had finally bitten off more than they can chew. Well, this teaser dissuades this fact in every way possible and now I’m going to tell you all of the things I liked about this trailer. Enjoy!

1. The Music

One of the things I was interested in seeing for this teaser was the music. The music tells the tone of a Star Wars film and I wanted to see what the tone for this movie was going to be. Well, I’m glad to say that this movie is going to have a serious tone rather than a more comedic vision that maybe the old directors were looking for. I also liked that the music, while it felt like Star Wars, it felt unique as well. This isn’t going to be your normal Star Wars flick and I love that!

2. The Characters

Oh my goodness, these characters look amazing. Alden Ehrenreich doesn’t look like Harrison Ford’s Han Solo but I don’t even care because he’s still cool. He embodies the spirit of Han Solo and that’s what is important.

Donald Glover also doesn’t look like Billy Dee Williams’ Lando Calrissean but once again I don’t even care because he looks so cool that it doesn’t even really matter.

Then there was Chewbacca. Oh my goodness, I love Chewbacca. He’s the greatest Wookie ever!

Heh, maybe we need an updated version of these characters. *shrug*

And then the other new characters already interest me in the best possible way. There are fabulous, beautiful women,

a new uber-cool droid,

and a crooked looking mentor in the form of Woody Harrelson’s Beckett.

What excites me are incredibly different and exciting looking characters in Star Wars and this standalone film is going to highlight a new side of Star Wars, the criminal world of the galaxy and that’s super interesting.

3. The Story

I don’t know what the story is going to exactly be about. Han was an Imperial I think, he wants to be the greatest pilot in the galaxy, and Beckett is making I guess the Avengers of smuggling, I don’t know. Whatever the case I’m digging this movie. *chuckle* I really am.

4. The Cinematography

Like Rogue One this movie has a gritty look as well. I think it’s the style of the standalone films. The trilogy provides the mainstream, somewhat kid-friendly Star Wars films while the standalone movies tell more serious stories that aren’t necessarily catered to anyone under eleven years old. I love that! I ended up absolutely loving Rogue One and I happen to like this teaser more than Rogue One’s teaser!

Thanks to Rogue One’s format and style I like Star Wars films with this austere, no play tone and Solo is definitely emitting that. Yes!

It also looks like this is going to be, yet again, a visually stunning Star Wars film, the third for that fact. The locations, the worlds, the style of the characters, it’s absolutely spectacular. Disney has outdone themselves once again.

My Conclusion of the Teaser

Up until last night there had been barely any news about this movie whatsoever so it left me with zero idea of what to expect and so it was fun seeing the teaser with fresh eyes. I was hoping that the trailer would at least be kind of exciting but I had no clue that it was going to be such a wonderfully awesome piece of work.

Can I say it’s better than the Avengers: Infinity War teaser? I can’t say that because that trailer was and still is OFF THE CHAIN but I can say this, I definitely like it more than the Rogue One teaser and I’d say it’s tied with The Last Jedi teaser. I definitely was not expecting to say that.

Disney, like I said before, is really out doing themselves with these Star Wars films. They’re taking this iconic character, Han Solo, giving him a back story that I really wasn’t excited about seeing and making it so awesome that now I can’t imagine it not being part of the Star Wars universe.

There are so many things right about this teaser that now I’m actually excited to see this movie. I think I know why Disney was withholding this teaser for so long. They knew it was going to blow our socks off and so if they had brought it out in the middle of January it would’ve completely wiped out the buzz around The Last Jedi. I mean this teaser was so amazing that I’m like The Last Jedi what?

Rey and Kylo Ren are going to have to take a backseat for a minute because this movie is going to grab all of my attention for the next three months. I love Star Wars!!!!!

Thank you Disney, you are making all of my dreams come true. 🙂

Well, I hope you enjoyed this teaser as much as I did and I thank you for reading. May the Force Be With You.

  1. It looks like it will be pretty awesome, for sure. My one “concern”, if you will… was that the ‘Falcon? It didn’t look like the ‘Falcon. It looked like a YT-xxxx transport, but not… well… THE FALCON!!!! 😉
