The Five Best Scenes of ‘Revenge of the Sith’

Revenge of the Sith has its wins and its losses. On one hand you’ve got Palpatine and his horrid plan to wipe out the Jedi, which actually comes to pass and then you have Anakin…and Padme…and more Anakin. There are good scenes and there are scenes I wish could’ve been revised but overall this is one of the better Star Wars movies and the best Star Wars film of the prequel trilogy. So, I’m going to share with you my five favorite scenes from Revenge of the Sith. Enjoy!

1. The Space Battle over Coruscant

There weren’t a lot of scenes that made me really happy in the prequels but the opening scene for Revenge of the Sith was legitimately awesome. From the shot of Anakin and Obi-Wan’s ships dipping out into a heated battle previously hidden from view by a giant Republic ship to Anakin spinning his ship to oblivion as he evades a pair of missiles. This scene has it all. In fact, Anakin isn’t even that annoying at this part which is a miracle in itself.

2. The Creepy Conversation

There’s something deeply unsettling about this quiet scene in Revenge of the Sith. Palpatine was so crafty and calculated. He had Anakin wrapped around his pinky finger like a piece of string. I mean, he literally was telling him the story of a Sith legend! and that somehow didn’t send the young Jedi any warning signals? That’s weird. It’s silently horrifying as he throws Anakin the ultimate bait; the concept that the Force could teach those how to save people from death. He could sense Anakin’s fear of losing Padme in childbirth, he knew that information of the Force would be the catalyst to Anakin’s path as a Jedi, and he capitalized on it. And the final words spoken between Anakin Skywalker and Palpatine are utterly chilling.

Anakin: “Is there any way to learn this power?”

Palpatine: “Not from a Jedi.”

That was the beginning of the end. 😦

The ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Trailer and Poster Is Here!

So earlier today I wrote a post about an Avengers: Infinity War trailer appearing tonight during March Madness but turns out it actually came out this morning and it’s finally here. First off, here’s the poster.

Pretty awesome right? Wow, there are so many characters. And here’s the trailer:

So this is what I think about the trailer. I love the teaser, the teaser is perfect for everything that it is. The music, the action, the characters, the story, everything about the teaser was impeccable and this trailer only built on that narrative.

I loved seeing more of Thanos and the Guardians of the Galaxy, I loved seeing Shuri make an appearance in the trailer, I finally got a glimpse at Thanos’s henchmen, and overall it was an exciting trailer but there was nothing utterly jaw dropping from it and that’s a great thing.

You can’t give viewers all of the film’s nuggets before we even see the film. That would be ridiculous and it would show that the movie isn’t worth watching. The fact that Marvel Studios provided us with a trailer that gave us tantalizing imagery without giving anything away is utterly perfect. I mean come on, the movie is coming out in exactly seven weeks. If I can’t wait until April 27 to find out what’s going to happen in this movie I obviously need to take a chill pill.

Well, I hope you enjoyed seeing this trailer as much as I did and I am SO EXCITED to see this movie because it’s clearly going to be OFF THE CHAIN! And that last bit of the trailer with Spider-Man and Doctor Strange, lol, now that was perfect. I’m already liking this Spider-Man/Doctor Strange dynamic. *thumbs up.*

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day.

Rose’s Greatest Moments

The Last Jedi introduced three new characters and Rose, of course, was one of them. One of the things that I liked the most about her was her unconventionality. She was a background character who was forced into the forefront, an interesting concept that made her character different than other heroines before her. And of course there’s the fact that she’s the first major Asian female character in Star Wars so that’s always awesome as well. But there were also elements to her story that made her really shine in the movie and I’m here to share with you those favorite Rose moments.

1. Meeting Finn

This is one of my favorite first interactions between two characters out of all of the Star Wars movies because it is so enjoyable and fun to watch. Seeing Rose gush over Finn is sooo cute. And then when she realizes that Finn’s trying to jump ship it’s so hilarious, and awesome, seeing her stun him with that stun prod. Not only is it one of my favorite scenes in The Last Jedi but it was the perfect introduction to her character in the movie.

2. Escaping Canto Bight

This is one of the most magical scenes in The Last Jedi for me (maybe it’s the music, I don’t know) and it’s undoubtedly one of Rose’s greatest moments. She came up with the genius plan to escape Canto Bight amidst the stampeding Fathiers and that was a great idea. This scene highlighted her ability to think on her feet and it’s just an awesome part. It’s also sweet seeing her release the matriarch Fathier into the night. Her compassion is part of her strength and it’s why she’s such a lovable character.

3. Facing Phasma

Rose evolved throughout this movie in huge ways. At the beginning of the film she was a mechanic who wasn’t even close to the conversation of the higher echelons of the Resistance because she was always, in her words, “Behind pipes all day.” By this point in the movie the timidity that she might’ve once had was gone and she was very brave at this scene. Not only was she not afraid of the First Order but she wasn’t afraid of Phasma when she had to face her either. In fact, she shot at her multiple times, to no avail of course, but it shows how she grows from being an unknown Resistance mechanic to a Resistance fighter. Continue reading Rose’s Greatest Moments
