The Wells Fargo Championship in Charlotte, NC is happening right now and I just so happened to be lucky enough to go to it on the first day during the pro-am because guess what? Tiger Woods was there and there was no way I wasn’t going! And I had quite the experience too. And so, as I depart from my usual movie talk, I’m here to share with you the remarkable time I had at the Wells Fargo Championship yesterday. Enjoy! 🙂
The Beginning of my Day
So in order to enjoy the full experience of the first day at the Wells Fargo Championship one must get up before the birds and head to the Golf Course at 5am, which I did with my family, and so when we finally arrived at the Golf Course it was still mainly dark outside (a rather chilly 55 degrees) and the workers were just getting there. Yeah, we were at the Golf Course before the workers even arrived. So it was about 6am in the morning, there were amateur and I think (I don’t know the golfers very well) some professional golfers practicing at the driving range but there wasn’t any sight of Tiger anywhere to be seen so we continued walking around and figuring out where the holes were and just wasting time. A little while later we went back to the driving range at another spot and first Justin Thomas came out which caused a bit of excited arouse. (I don’t know anything about him but I saw him. Yay!) And then…Tiger arrived! *jaw drop*

It was amazing! This was my first golfing championship I’ve ever been to and I was seeing Tiger not ten feet away. I couldn’t believe how lucky I was. But that wasn’t the end. It was only the beginning.
After getting a few pictures of the golfing legend I went with my family and got some Wells Fargo Championship souvenirs and after my sister and I put on our brand new visors we went to the 1st tee where Tiger would begin the pro-am day at 7am.

I was so excited to see Tiger at the first tee and when he swung and hit the ball all I could say was, “Woooow!” I still kind of can’t believe I saw one of the greatest golfers of all time at such an up close level yesterday. Awesome!
After that we rushed down to the 1st green where we took some more pictures and then zoomed to the 2nd green where we knew the crowd wouldn’t be yet. We got ourselves a great spot and I was able to take some more fascinating shots of the Tiger Woods.

After that we continued down the golf course and after following Tiger through the 3rd and 4th hole we decided to go to Hole 7 and camp out a bit so we could see Tiger and some of the other golfers.
As I was walking I just happened to look at how stunning the golf course was on that cool and breezy morning so my sister and I had to take some pictures displaying some of the beauty of the course.

And then we walked a little bit and saw another area to take glorious pictures.

My sister took this picture and I was utterly stunned by its beauty and so I had to share it with you all. The sheer ethereal feeling that I was getting from the gorgeousness of yesterday morning made me completely understand why people play golf. It’s a very peaceful setting out there on the golf course.
And then when we eventually got to Hole 7 where we camped out for a spell.

At that hole there were these three gorgeous mansions that were practically begging to be taken pictures of. We couldn’t fit the third mansion into the shot but I could get these two into the picture. Aren’t they magnificent?
After that we sat for a small while and then finally here came Tiger with, of course, the crowd.

And then after he and the amateurs finished this hole and kept on going we got to see another famous golfer that even I know and that was Ricky Fowler.

So that was awesome. We got to see a few other professional golfers as well (Daniel Berger, Webb Simpson, Gary Woodland, and Harold Varner III) before getting up and moving on to catch up with Tiger again.

And then we went to the 13th hole which sat at the near top of this large steep hill that provided views of the 12th hole down the way. At that point of the day it was starting to get warmer so my sister and I went and got ourselves some frozen lemonade (yummy) and it definitely hit the spot. Not only was it a thirst quencher but it was absolutely delightful.
The fun thing about camping at the 13th hole was having to watch out for the balls coming down. Every time a golfer hit the ball all of us spectators had to keep our eyes peeled on the ball to see where it was going and a few times the ball actually fell towards the crowd (these were the amateurs’ shots by the way) and that was definitely kind of fun.
After Tiger moved on we moved on as well. We got a great vantage point at the 15th tee where we could see the 14th hole at the bottom of the hill.

And then we just waited until he would eventually come to the 15th tee.

After he hit the ball and began working on the 15th hole we went to go to the 18th hole to see him again but by the time we got to the 18th hole the crowd was dense and our time seeing Tiger was officially over. But I couldn’t have been happier.

We got to see Tiger Woods up close multiple times and it undoubtedly was an experience I wouldn’t forget any time soon. And guess what? It still wasn’t over!
We were heading to finally get something to eat when we had to stop to let some golfers pass through. I was looking to see who it was and when I saw it was Kevin Kisner’s team I got so excited because guess who which amateur was playing with him? Um, Roy Williams!

I am such a UNC fan, especially with their basketball team, and so to see Roy Williams so close was just incredible! Could I be any luckier? We were getting ready to eat and leave and just so happened to run into Roy Williams along the way. I couldn’t have been happier.
After that the day was basically over. I got myself a chili cheese dog and a Coke and then we slowly made our all the way out of the golf course and to the buses that awaited us.
I’ve never been a golf fan or very interested in the sport but I can honestly say that I have grown a love for golf after that glorious experience I had yesterday. I got to see Tiger Woods front and center, I got to see Roy Williams, and I got to spend a fabulous time with the family that I love so much and I couldn’t ask for anything more.
I thank you for reading about my first golf championship and I hope you have a splendid day.
That sounded like a ton of fun! 🙂

Did you get to talk to Tiger Woods? That would have been awesome if you did!!! 🙂

No, I didn’t get a chance to talk to him (mainly because I would’ve been too embarrassed to call him out while he’s getting ready to play) but I’m just thankful to have been able to see him in my lifetime at such a close encounter. It was rather cool. 🙂

If you met an actor from Avengers: Infinity War, would you be more excited than you were when you saw Tiger Woods? I probably would… 🙂

Oh my goodness yes!!!! (Sorry Tiger.) I think the actors I would most want to meet would be Chris Evans (cause he seems nice,) Robert Downey Jr (because he’s Iron Man of course!) Chadwick Boseman (who doesn’t want to meet Black Panther) and Scarlett Johansson. That would be pretty cool. But if I met any ‘Star Wars’ actors like Mark Hamill (*squeal*) or Daisy Ridley (*double squeal*) or Adam Driver (oh my gosh, *super squeal*) I would undoubtedly the be the happiest woman ever!!! 🙂

Yeah! If I met any of those + Tom Holland (because he’s funny), Chris Hemsworth (because he’s also funny and sounds nice), and Finn (I forgot his actual name, LOL), I would be the happiest woman ever too! 🙂

His name is John Boyega and I actually forgot about Tom Holland. Yeah, it would be awesome to meet him too because he has made SO happy as Spider-Man/Peter Parker. He’s so cute and hilarious and naive and innocent and heroic all at the same time. I love this new (perfect) Spider-Man. 🙂

Oh yeah. Thanks for reminding me! For some reason my mind blanked out when I was trying to remember his name… Anyway, yeah! I totally agree with you! He’s just so awesome! 🙂 I think that he did a perfect Spider-Man. He’s definitely my favorite one (Sorry Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield!)!! 🙂

Also did you know John Boyega has an accent? I think he’s English… I honestly didn’t know that until the first time I watched the Force Awakens deleted scenes… 🙂

Yeah, he’s an Englishman and it’s always a little strange when I see him in actual life talking in a British accent because he does such a great job with his American accent. Like in ‘Pacific Rim: Uprising’ he’s speaking with his native accent and it’s kind of hilarious and cool at the same time.

Yeah. When I first heard him talk in his accent, I was like, “WHAT?!” LOL

Wow seeing a Tiger in the wild and a lesser spotted Roy Williams! What a day you had. I know the excitement you must have felt as I’ve met a few professional Soccer players and some WWE wrestlers, they seem to have this sort of aura stemming from their excellence and skill. Thanks for sharing your pictures.
