Episode IX is about to go into production and while ideas and concepts of the film are being shrouded by the secrets of the Force a few rumors are still managing to seep through the the cracks and I’m happy to report that there are more rumors to share with you all. Of course, the rumors should be taken with a grain of slat lest they be total distractions but if they are true they could also be POTENTIAL SPOILERS as well so if you would rather stay in the dark I advise you to discontinue reading this now. Okay, here are the rumors.
Yavin IV is the earliest rebel base to appear in Star Wars and it made a glorious comeback in Rogue One. Now it’s been said that scenes will be filmed at the site in the U.K where Yavin IV was built which means we might see the return of Yavin IV in Episode IX. J.J Abrams is the king of nostalgia, as The Force Awakens was basically a nostalgia ice cream cake that many Star Wars fans couldn’t keep their hands out of. If he brought Yavin IV back into the fold that would be very awesome indeed.
The site where the set for Yavin IV was built can also be made into anything the movie makers want it to be so this actually might be a completely different planet we’re going to with a Yavin IV vibe. Whatever the case, this is exciting news all the same.
And the second rumor involves Kylo Ren.
Kylo Ren’s style has changed subtly but significantly throughout his involvement in this current Star Wars trilogy.
In The Force Awakens he sported a mask, a short, one shouldered cape, and a long robe.
In The Last Jedi he went for a more formal look with a longer cape (which isn’t seen here) that resembled Darth Vader’s glorious cloak and a short tunic that revealed his leggings and boots.
It seems that yet again he will be getting a change of wardrobe as rumors say that his new cloak will be more like Count Dooku’s in the prequel trilogy with a chocolate brown color and its length will end at his hips. The rumors also say he will sport a hood in the next film which is exciting because that means J.J Abrams will thankfully not be giving him a mask again. Yay. His belt will also be replaced with a thinner belt with an LED light to keep that resemblance of Kylo Ren and Darth Vader intact.
This sounds very interesting because we’ve only ever seen Kylo Ren in black (or white considering the flashback of him as a Jedi padawan.) I think it’s going to definitely be a very different vibe from Kylo Ren if we see him dressed in a brown color. It also cements the idea that they’re mirroring Kylo Ren to his grandfather, Anakin Skywalker, who also had a hooded brown cloak of his own in Revenge of the Sith.
Of course this rumor may be incorrect but the source that provided this rumor said that Kylo Ren would be wearing a longer cape in The Last Jedi and he was correct so maybe this wardrobe alteration is legit. Oh my goodness, I can’t wait to see.
What do you think of these rumors? I’d love to hear your opinions in the comments below. I thank you for reading and I hope you have a splendid day. May the Force be with you.
