Ant-Man and the Wasp is the final Marvel movie of the year and after the booming success of Avengers: Infinity War I was honestly a little skeptical about how Ant-Man and the Wasp could possibly follow suit in the shadow of the mighty Thanos. Ant-Man came out after Avengers: Age of Ultron three years ago and it didn’t do so well (well, that Marvel year wasn’t that great period.) Would its sequel break free of its meager quality? Um…yeah it did. I’ve finally seen the movie and it is 100% AWESOME, and that’s coming from someone who barely liked Ant-Man at all.
Ant-Man and the Wasp was such an amazing experience for me and once again confirmed my love for Marvel. I mean, I love Star Wars but Marvel has continuously released films that I can expect to be ridiculously enjoyable time and time again. When I go to watch a Star Wars movie I don’t know exactly what to expect. Will it be good? Will it be disappointing? With Marvel I know I don’t have to worry about that. Since Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (which was the last mediocre Marvel movie) there have been five straight fantastic Marvel films. That’s incredible! When have you ever heard of five straight wins in a movie franchise? Well…maybe the Harry Potter series but besides that it’s next to impossible to make that many good movies in a row?
Another fun thing about going to the movies is seeing new movie trailers and boy did I see some magical trailers. The first one that utterly blew my mind was The Nutcracker and the Four Realms.
I’m a fan of Disney’s live action fairy tale movies. I loved Alice in Wonderland, Oz, the Great and Powerful, The Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast, etc. and this looks like definitely another one of those magical films that I will definitely want to watch. I absolutely love The Nutcracker and this movie has already reaffirmed why I love it so much.
I also saw the teaser for Dumbo as well.
Oh. My. Goodness! I don’t know anything about Dumbo other than he’s the elephant with the big ears. Besides that I have zero knowledge about the story behind the beloved Disney character so this teaser was practically my first introduction to the character and I can honestly say I’m stunned. I’m already excited to see this movie and I don’t even know when it’s officially coming out yet. Wow, wow, wow. Disney is ruling with the movies lately.
All in all, if you’re going to see Ant-Man and the Wasp I highly advise you to watch it in IMAX and with a large crowd. I was in a meagerly crowded theater as I watched the movie but the laughs and the fun atmosphere was definitely still there because the movie was that enjoyable. And you have to stick around for the two post-credits scenes. They are TOTALLY worth watching.
I’m so excited to share with you my spoiler-free review tomorrow and I thank you for reading. Have a magnificent day. 🙂
