Here’s an Exciting First Look at ‘Episode IX’

Episode IX is officially under way and to celebrate yesterday’s first day of filming for the movie J.J Abrams shared a vague behind-the-scenes photo commemorating the beginning of this incredible journey that we are about to partake on. Here’s the tweet.

This picture has so many exciting elements.

  1. The camera has Episodes VII and IX on it which is cool in itself. J.J Abrams did a great job rekindling my love for Star Wars by creating a fantastic movie that grabbed my attention (and my emotions) from beginning to end. Now I can’t wait to see the magic he concocts with this Star Wars finale.
  2. John Boyega is the only person in this picture that can easily be seen and it looks like he’s got a new outfit and haircut! Woo! One of my favorite things to see in a new Star Wars are the characters’ new looks and this picture is definitely providing that. Judging from the light brown vest and the brown shirt it looks like the designers are giving him a look reminiscent to Han’s style in A New Hope.hanlukeleia.jpg

As you can see here Han has the vest/long sleeved shirt style going on. Does that mean Finn is going to be a bit more rogue this time around? Can’t wait to find out.

  3. It’s Chewbacca! Who doesn’t love Chewbacca and seeing him sitting in the cockpit in his patented co-pilot position is super awesome.
  4. The camera is purposely hiding the third person from view but I bet you that’s Rey. It frankly can’t be anyone else. Rey is the new co-owner of the Millennium Falcon wiht Chewbacca. It definitely looks like Rey with the style of clothing that she can be vaguely seen wearing. And if that is Rey it seems like she’s either returning to her sandy colors or she’s wearing something that is pristine white. This would be a fantastic surprise because many heroines in Star Wars don’t wear white. Only Princess Leia and Padme Amidala have ever worn that color. And it would be a stark contrast to Kylo Ren’s style considering that he always wears black. That would officially crown them as vessels of the light versus the dark. *squeal* I’m so excited.

I don’t know, maybe I’m reading into this picture way too hard but I can’t help it. I am ECSTATIC! I went to see The Force Awakens five times in the movie theaters because it was a magical movie experience. I’m already starting to feel that same magic just with this first official look at the movie. *clapping my hands* I can’t wait to see it.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day. May the Force be with you.
