Who’s Your Favorite Guardian of the Galaxy?

Marvel has introduced over two dozen fascinating and fabulous superheroes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Some of the most memorable of these wonderful characters have been, undoubtedly, the Guardians of the Galaxy. While they are clearly a bunch of misfits they have grabbed the hearts of Marvel fans and casual moviegoers around the world with their uncanny heroism. But which of these lovable scoundrels is your favorite? That’s what I’m here to ask you on this week’s segment of Who’s Your Favorite? Here are the characters.

Groot is practically the Chewbacca of the MCU. He’s big and represents the brute strength of the Guardiab, he speaks a foreign language in the form of “I am Groot” which we, as moviegoers, can’t understand, and he’s awfully sweet and kind (at least every version of Groot except the teenage Groot.) Groot is one of the coolest, most original characters I have ever seen in a movie and that’s why he’s so awesome.

Mantis is another strange character unlike anything I’ve seen before in movies but she’s delightfully weird in a totally lovable fashion. She’s awkward and funny, sweet and naive, and she’s such a vital member to the Guardians in her own special way. She’s easily one of the best additions to the MCU so far.

Drax can be tough and mean but he mainly is just a downright hilarious character. He relishes fighting like it’s the best thing in the universe, which to him, it is. And he’s so delightfully Drax. There’s no character like him in any movie and I can’t wait to see him return for revenge against Thanos in Avengers 4.

Gamora has had a rough life as the daughter of the murderous Thanos but what’s great about her is she didn’t let him define and rule her life. She willingly betrayed him, knowing that it could’ve possibly gotten (and unfortunately did) get her killed, to save millions of lives and that makes her one of the greatest heroes in the MCU. We have discovered that Thanos isn’t one to be trifled with and to have the guts to defy him is truly inspiring indeed. And I love her hair. The pink highlights are mesmerizing to look at.

First of all, Chris Pratt is a hilarious and easily lovable guy. His charisma permeates Star-Lord to the point that you can’t help but love the sometimes obnoxious, always heroic superhero. Star-Lord isn’t the politest nor most courteous dude in the galaxy and that’s what makes him so great. He’s full of jokes and the result is that he creates about thirty percent of the Guardians’ infectious humor. Star-Lord is the best.

Rocket is literally a talking, gun-toting raccoon and yet that’s somehow not weird because he’s filled with such personality you look past the fact that he could be rummaging in your garbage tonight. Rocket is about as charismatic as a character can get and I’m so glad he survived the Infinity Snap so he can have more fascinating conversations with the equally wonderful Thor.

So these are the Guardians of the Galaxy so far. By the time of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 we may get a new member to the team. The most obvious choice would be the arrival of Adam Warlock who’s already been hinted at in a post-credits scene of Vol. 2 and that would be very awesome indeed.

But which is your favorite of the rascally bunch? My favorite member is Star-Lord because he’s simply hilarious and his comedic aspect alone makes me love him even more through his involvement in the MCU. I’d love to know which Guardian you happen to love the most.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have an absolutely magnificent day.

  1. Hi Annlyel, sorry can’t do it. I like all of them, having designed sabers for each one (except Mantis as at the time I designed them she wasn’t a Guardian) it would be unfair to single one out. But I do have to point out that Drax and I are mates having crossed paths, and to prove it he did say he “Metaphor”!
