Ranking the Marvel Trailers From Worst to Best; Part 1

There have been twenty movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far but at one time all we knew of these films were their exciting or somewhat disappointing trailers. Trailers tell you everything about a movie’s quality and that’s why I’m ranking them. But because there are, well, twenty trailers to rank I’m breaking it up into a two-day series. Enjoy!

20. The Incredible Hulk

Like The Incredible Hulk this is clearly the worst trailer of them all. Maybe I’m being a little biased because I know the movie isn’t that good but still, it’s kind of lame. It could’ve been a good movie but unfortunately it isn’t.

19. Captain America: The First Avenger

Captain America: The First Avenger is a boring origin story, pure and simple. The story is well told but the movie is poorly made. In the hands of the Russo Brothers it might have been a completely different film but in those days Marvel hadn’t entirely gotten their footing yet. It definitely is #19 in my opinion.

18. Thor: The Dark World

I remember seeing this trailer five years ago. It didn’t excite me then and it doesn’t excite me now. End of story.

17. Iron Man

Iron Man was the first movie to start the Marvel Cinematic Universe and this trailer definitely would get people excited to see this film. Tony Stark is as arrogant as ever and the vibe of the trailer screams the rock and roll tone of the movie. It’s decent but there are better trailers.

16. The Avengers

If the movie had been like this trailer it definitely would’ve ended up more like Justice League rather than the great film it ended up becoming. Now, it is exciting to see Marvel at this stage of the game because at this time these were the only heroes. To see them together was astounding. Now it’s laughable. Still, it does make me a bit nostalgic.

15. Captain America: The Winter Soldier

I remember seeing this trailer and not getting that excited about this Captain America sequel. It had some tantalizing footage but overall it seemed kind of wack. Who knew the movie would end up being so amazing?

14. Iron Man 3

This trailer made Iron Man 3 seem a lot more dire than it actually was. This teaser totally made me want to see this movie. Unfortunately the movie wasn’t as great as the trailer. *shrug*

13. Spider-Man: Homecoming

Spider-Man: Homecoming‘s trailer was definitely a bit iffy. The movie could be great or it could be a little boring? Thankfully the film was spectacular in ways this trailer didn’t suggest. Sometimes it’s good to have a surprise.

12. Ant-Man and the Wasp

Ant-Man and the Wasp is a great film and has easily become one of my favorites. It’s trailer, not so much. It has its pleasing moments but overall like Spider-Man: Homecoming this movie could’ve turned out to be really good or really bad.

11. Thor

Thor was definitely not my cup of tea but this trailer isn’t that bad. It paints Thor in a rather epic light and makes me kind of want to see the movie again if I’m being honest. This trailer did its job.

So, these are the trailers on the bottom half of the totem pole. Tomorrow I will share with you the top ten trailers. You won’t want to miss it.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a lovely day.
