This Labor Day was one of the best I’ve had in recent memory. Marvel celebrated their ten-year anniversary by releasing all twenty Marvel films back into select IMAX theaters for us to enjoy one more time. So, naturally, I wanted to see the most epic installment in the franchise again; Avengers: Infinity War. And boy was it epic.
I’ve seen a lot of awesome movies that have blown me away in the movie theaters but I’ve never seen a film, especially a superhero movie, quite like Avengers: Infinity War. A lot of times movies are really good or entertaining but rarely do you see a film dabble fearlessly into the epic pool. Infinity War doesn’t hesitate to be as possibly good as it can be.
I watched the movie for only the second time in IMAX last night and I was blown away yet again. And I’ve watched the movie at least ten times at home since I owned it on Blu-Ray! There’s something magical and kind of unforgettable however about sitting in a dark theater and watching Thanos summon comets from a moon in IMAX.
The sound effects are SO loud, your seat is rumbling, the music is absolutely incredible, basically the movie is off the chain. This is the first Marvel film that I just can’t seem to get enough of.
Maybe it’s because it has all of my favorite heroes in it. Maybe because it’s, to me, clearly one of the funniest installments in the franchise. Or maybe because it’s just a really, really good movie.
Whatever the case, to think that Avengers 4 is probably going to be even better is just an astonishing thought and I’m so glad I have less than a year until I see it.
And the trailers before the movie were just as enjoyable as well.
You can always tell how good a movie is going to be by their trailer in IMAX and for the most part I got a good vibe from the Aquaman trailer. Early screenings for the film have already heralded it similar to an early Marvel movie so that’s a good sign. The Avengers and Iron Man were fantastic installments in the early days of the MCU. But if it’s closer to maybe Thor or Captain America: The First Avenger that could be a no-no.
Whatever the case, the trailer was decent and it made me interested to watch it this December.
But Venom, oh my goodness, this movie looks awesome. It seems a bit horrifying, the action looks amazing, and Venom is downright gross, cool, and terrifying all at once. Tom Hardy is one of my favorite actors and so I have no doubt this movie is going to be really awesome to watch.
I can’t wait to see it.
As you can probably tell, I had a blast, and it’s definitely going to remain a fond memory of mine for a long while.
I thank you for reading about my experience and I hope you have a great day.
