After watching Captain America: The First Avenger the other day it struck me how far Bucky has come in the MCU. He’s been in this story since the beginning and he’s experienced so many twists and turns throughout his involvement in this franchise. I mean, now he’s dead! But since it’s pretty obvious that somehow he will be revived to fight Thanos one more time there is still an imminent doom awaiting a certain man and his name is Steve Rogers.
Captain America has graced six movies in the MCU, he’s played a central part in the overall story of the franchise, and he’s one of the most important characters…but his journey is swiftly coming to an end.
Chris Evans (Captain America) is ready to move on from the shield and start a new direction in his acting career and with him not signing any more contracts it’s pretty clear that Avengers 4 will be his final hurrah. Sebastian Stan (Bucky), however, has signed a nine movie contract with Marvel and get this; he’s only been in four movies so far! That means even after Avengers 4 he’ll return yet again for at least another four movies. Yeah, Bucky is going to be around for a while.
So with Steve Rogers’ Captain America coming to an end a new man behind the shield will have to be crowned and I have a legitimate feeling that it’s going to be Bucky.

Avengers: Age of Ultron introduced three new heroes, Scarlet Witch, Vision, and Quicksilver, who ended up perishing in the final act of the film. Since his death there hasn’t been a lot of reference to him or even emotional suggestion from Wanda toward her dead brother in the later films but with Avengers 4 supposedly being the end of this current era of Marvel movies all things are possible. Such as a surprise return from everyone’s favorite speedster, Quicksilver.
There have been several rumors that Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been sighted on the Avengers 4 set but that might not mean anything. Yondu actor Michael Rooker was caught on the set of Avengers: Infinity War which gave fans reason to believe he would be part of the superhero ensemble. That’s why everyone was so shocked when he ended u dying in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
But here’s the question; it’s not so much will Quicksilver return in Avengers 4 rather than should he return? Honestly, I think it would be nice to see him again.
He brought such an awesome dynamic to the Avengers team and when he died it was rather unfortunate. But I’m pretty sure that if he does return it’ll either be in a flashback or a part of the rumored time-travel theory that’s supposed to take place in Avengers 4. Will he be brought back from the dead like the other deceased heroes? Not likely and for one simple reason.
