The teaser for Captain Marvel came out last Tuesday, shocking the internet and making a whole bunch of Marvel fans super excited to see the highly-anticipated arrival of one of Marvel’s most powerful heroes. But, as I’ve grown to love the teaser more and more I can’t help but wonder what the Wonder Woman teaser was like when it first came out. So, I decided to share with you all a post comparing the two highly-anticipated trailers and discover which one is better. Enjoy!
Wonder Woman is awesome! There’s no doubt about that! And this teaser definitely gave me a few chills because who doesn’t love seeing Wonder Woman kick butt? But the biggest flaw this trailer has is that it shows too much.
There’s a lot of awesome action; a few teases of romance between Steve and Diana, some awesome Themyscira/Amazonian warrior footage, but it feels like the trailer is working too hard to make you want to see the film rather than being confident in its own awesomeness so it doesn’t have to show you too much.
Now, of course, Wonder Woman is still hands down the best DCEU movie made so far. Gal Gadot handles the role of the Amazonian goddess with such beauty and skill that you can’t help but love her. And she looks rather awesome kicking butt too. 🙂
I’d give this trailer 4 out of 5 stars. It isn’t the greatest teaser I’ve ever seen by a long shot but it did make me kind of want to watch this movie again sometime in the future.
Okay, so that gave me a rush. *laughing giddily*
I haven’t seen the movie yet so I can’t look at these clips and know exactly what’s going on but I’ll tell you this. This teaser is better than Wonder Woman‘s by a mile.
First of all, it’s forty-five seconds less than the teaser for Wonder Woman. Yes! Forty-five seconds! Wonder Woman extended nearly three minutes which is an awful long time for a trailer that’s supposedly just a teaser. Captain Marvel’s trailer remained under the two-minute frame which makes a lot of sense considering that it’s just a teaser for crying out loud.
Secondly, there weren’t as many slow-motion shots. One of the things that plagued Wonder Woman was the constant use of slow-mo in the action scenes. We get it, Wonder Woman is awesome and you want to be able to see all of the butt-kicking she’s dealing out but there didn’t need to be that much slow-motion. Marvel has noticed that you don’t need slow-motion to make something epic and I greatly appreciate that.
Third, we don’t see Ms. Danvers at any point in the trailer involved in a romantic relationship. Keeping her love life in the air provides the idea that she’s a strong woman who doesn’t need the aspect of romance to make her likable or make people want to see the movie. Of course, I’m sure the film will introduce a character that’ll catch her fancy to a certain degree but I’m glad they didn’t advertise that in this teaser.
And the music is hands down way more chill-inducing than the music for Wonder Woman any day of the week, the month, the year, and in life.
So, obviously, Captain Marvel has a better teaser than Wonder Woman which is a great sign because that means the movie will be clearly awesome. 🙂
What do you think? Is the teaser for Wonder Woman the one that makes you the happiest or can you not help but “marvel” at Captain Marvel‘s teaser? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.
I thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day.
