In Her Sleep
It had been a little over a week since Rey’s incident in the cave. Even though she hadn’t liked the “test” Luke had given her she had managed to pass, hence she began her teachings with Luke Skywalker. Each lesson was more underwhelming than she imagined. She had figured each day would bring new obstacles like learning how to lift rocks, speak to creatures with her mind, and bend the Force to her will. Instead, she would participate in intellectual conversations about the legacy of the Jedi, perform arduous training exercises involving her climbing the cliffs to Porgs’ nests, and traversing gorges filled with whirlpools.
In her spare time, she would continue to spar with her lightsaber on the cliffs of Ahch-To, preparing for the day when she would have to face Kylo Ren once again.
And every evening before she retired to bed she would go to Chewbacca to get an update on the Resistance. For the past couple of days, there had been a disturbing development with the Resistance–radio silence–but at least there was some good news. Finn was finally out of his coma. That allowed Rey to sleep well at night.
And that’s what she was doing right now; sleeping peacefully.
