My Reaction to ‘Captain Marvel’

I just recently went to see Captain Marvel for the first time today and I’m here to share my reaction. Captain Marvel is a must-see for any Marvel fan, for it holds some interesting easter eggs and cool setups for potential sequels (plus Captain Marvel is pretty cool) but no, it isn’t one of Marvel’s finest films.

Yes, the film has made over a billion dollars and even the theater I was in today was nearly packed full but I found it to be a tad bit off the marker. It had some truly thrilling, inspiring, and downright triumphant moments in the movie but what it lacked was…hmm, what it did it lack? It lacked a great story.

Origin stories are very basic at times. They tell the triumphs of a hero and what it took that certain character to overcome their personal obstacles to become a superhero. And that’s exactly what this movie was. Very basic, but good.

All in all, I’m glad I watched it ahead of Avengers: Endgame so I know Carol’s character and why she’s going to give Thanos so much trouble but it also won’t reach my best Marvel-movies-list. But, it was a good movie and I did enjoy it very much.

Tomorrow I’ll share with you all my full review, spoilers and all, and I can’t wait. It’s going to be so much fun.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a lovely day.

A Six-Year Poster Evolution: Wasp

Hope van Dyne didn’t debut as a superhero in Ant-Man. She was basically no more than a secretary who just so happened to know martial arts…very well. It wasn’t until the end of the film that we got to see her in action but it wasn’t solidified that she would have a bigger role in the franchise as a superhero until the first post-credits scene for the film when it highlighted staring at her unfinished Wasp super suit in awe.

It made Hope more than just a pretty face. She was a hero who was just as heroic and capable of saving the world as Scott Lang. Unfortunately, she was one of the victims of Thanos’s infamous snap, meaning she can’t help try to defeat Thanos. At least, not yet.

While she hasn’t been in many films so far she has had a few posters and I’m very excited to share them with you. So, here they are. Enjoy!

I love this poster because of the humor behind it. You see, at this point in her life, she pretty much despised Scott Lang. She believed she was more capable than him for the task he was given and was constantly ready to wear her father’s suit but when he wouldn’t let her she gained an annoyance to Scott who she felt didn’t deserve to wear such a powerful piece of technology. Hence, her annoyed expression on this poster. Lol.

Ant-Man and the Wasp

Hope van Dyne returns in the Ant-Man sequel not as a returning secretary but as a superhero. (I love it!) Goodbye to the makeup, fingernail polish, and fancy hair. Now she’s ready to fight with a much cleaner look and hair that clearly resembles someone who’s been sweating. Um, awesome. And she looks so perfect for that suit by the way.

The unique gold color, the perfect blue, the red, everything about her suit screams cool.

Avengers: Endgame

Wasp in this poster looks almost regretful. Like she wishes could help kick whoever’s butt placed her in this awful position. Unfortunately, she can’t, because she’s dead. But if she returns, which I’m sure she will, she is going to relish giving Thanos the beatdown he deserves.

I can’t wait to share with you all the character posters for Captain Marvel tomorrow. That’s going to be fun.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a remarkable day.

What Was Your Favorite Part of ‘The Rise of Skywalker’ Teaser?

The teaser for The Rise of Skywalker came out two days ago and it was amazing, wowing fans left and right with its stunning clips, it’s chill-inducing music, and that jaw-dropping return of the iconic Emperor Palpatine. There were so many incredible moments in this teaser that I know it’s going to be tough trying to pick a favorite part but I’ll list some of the best moments. Enjoy!

Seeing Rey Again

The last time we saw Rey she was on the Millennium Falcon with Leia holding the broken halves of Luke’s lightsaber. Now she returns, with that same lightsaber in her hand, preparing for her imminent showdown with her archnemesis, Kylo Ren.

The Jaw-Dropping Flip

Rey’s power has doubled since last we saw her and it is fully displayed in this brilliant moment from the trailer as Rey flips over Kylo’s ship. Wow, I can’t wait to see this clip play out.
