Avengers: Endgame was expected to shatter box-office records and to potentially make a billion dollars in its opening weekend. It ended up making more than that with $1.2 billion! dollars, absolutely devastating any box-office records in the past.
Infinity War barely managed to surpass The Force Awakens‘s record with $257.7 million dollars in its opening weekend but Endgame DESTROYED that by making $350 million dollars this past weekend. And overseas in China, it made $330.5 million in its opening weekend, barreling past its past box-office records.
Avengers: Endgame, in one weekend, has made more money than nearly every single Harry Potter film, excluding Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 which it will probably exceed in the next couple of days. It’s made more money than The Dark Knight trilogy, nearly every Star Wars movie except for The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. Basically, Avengers: Endgame has made more money than most movies have ever made in a single weekend!
The question is, can this momentum continue and lead Avengers: Endgame to FINALLY dethroning Avatar? We’ll have to wait and see. 🙂
