Which Original Avenger Had Your Favorite Story Arc in ‘Avengers: Endgame’?

Avengers: Endgame has just come out on Digital and many people are getting their chance to revisit their favorite moments and story arcs in the film. So, for this week’s Who’s Your Favorite segment, I decided to revisit this topic just in case your view may have changed in the last few months. Enjoy!

(And don’t fret, for those of you who still haven’t seen this movie yet, there will be no spoilers in this post.)

The Hulk/Bruce Banner

Bruce Banner’s storyline in Avengers: Endgame is both surprising and perfect at the same time. We get to see Bruce in a new light that we haven’t seen before. He gets his chance to be just as heroic as everyone else, in a Bruce-Banner sort of way. And by the film’s conclusion, we now have a clear idea of how perfect his story through the MCU has truly been.

Oh the mighty Thor with his Asgardian weapon, his Asgardian strength, and his long life, the God of Thunder’s arc in Avengers: Endgame is totally unexpected and yet so perfect at the same time. Thor has had one of the most depressing storylines of any of the original six Avengers, as he has lost his mother, his father, his brother (twice,) Jane dumped him because he wasn’t spending enough time with her, and he wasn’t able to stop Thanos from wiping out half of all life. All of this sadness for Thor builds up in an astounding way for the Asgardian Avenger in a way that is easily one of the most perfect evolutions of a character that I have ever witnessed.

Black Widow

Black Widow’s story has been an up and down road for her. She may not have lost as many loved ones as Thor did but not being able to defeat Thanos was just as hard a punch in the gut emotionally as anything else. Black Widow’s journey hasn’t been easy. Not by a long shot. She has been on the side of the bad guys and the good. She has hurt innocents as a KGB operative and accidentally as an Avenger. Through the wringer and back again has been her storyline and Avengers: Endgame concludes her journey accordingly in a perfectly heroic way.

Oh Hawkeye, what a wonderful character he is. He seems the most stable out of all of The Avengers but it becomes pretty clear that without his family to act as his personal stability he can be rather…scary actually. Hawkeye has always been The Avenger who hasn’t been given enough attention storywise but Endgame doesn’t do that. The movie highlights his character in a truly awesome way and, well, I’m just happy about Hawkeye. 🙂

Captain America

Oh, Cap, Cap, Cap. His evolution throughout the Infinity Saga has been a pure joy to watch over the last eight years since Captain America: The First AvengerEndgame does a remarkable service to the patriotic hero, providing him a conclusion that is simply perfect. I love Captain America. 😭

Iron Man

Iron Man. Oh, Iron Man. Oh, what do I write? Well, Iron Man started it all. He began this incredible journey that has been around for more than half my life and, well, Endgame provides him a satisfying conclusion that is definitely perfect. 😢😭

So, if you’ve seen Endgame, which original Avenger had your favorite storyline in Endgame? For me, I would definitely have to pick Captain America. He has one of the most outstanding moments in the film that left me cheering with joy and well, I just love Captain America. Looking back on all of the movies Captain America has graced I can smile knowing how his story has ended. 🙂

I can’t wait to hear your thoughts in the comments below. I thank you for reading and I hope you have a fantastic day. Avengers Assemble!
