Even though I won’t be going to D23 Expo this year it doesn’t mean I’m not going to follow all of the Disney news that the next three days have to offer and honestly, I’m through the roof with excitement.
With LucasFilm set to have a sizable presence at the conference who knows what things we may learn by the end of the weekend. We know Jon Favreau is set to release the trailer for the highly-anticipated live-action Star Wars series, The Mandalorian, which comes to Disney+ on November 12, at D23 Expo but are there any other surprises.
Will J.J Abrams appear onstage and provide us a new trailer for The Rise of Skywalker or maybe even the film’s first official teaser poster? Will the Obi-Wan series that had every Star Wars fan riled last week as news about Ewan Mcgregor returning to the franchise finally be announced, officially? Or is there an even greater surprise in store, like an official reveal of what to expect from the next Star Wars trilogy coming in 2022?
And Marvel is also set to have a presence at the conference? We already got plenty of tantalizing information for the future of the MCU during San Diego Comic-Con but you never know if even more news could drop for the franchise.
There are so many questions, so many potential reveals this weekend may provide, and I’m just hoping this conference ends up being as marvelous as San Diego Comic-Con was.
I thank you for reading and I hope you have a spectacular day. May the Force be with you.
Nebula has had one of the most complex stories in the MCU. She began as your common villain, killing good guys and fighting the heroes. The good streak that came equipped with Gamora was seemingly nonexistent in Nebula but Marvel had a plan for her. Instead of killing her off, as one might expect, she was allowed to survive another day. It was in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 where her heroic side finally started to blossom, leading to what would be a very redemptive story in Avengers: Endgame.
Let’s look at her storyline in Avengers: Endgame.
Having Fun for the First Time
You’re probably looking at this picture and saying to yourself, “What? Is that Nebula smiling?” Yes…it is. At the beginning of Endgame while Tony Stark and Nebula are stranded aboard Star-Lord’s ship they play a game. For nearly all of Nebula’s life she has been trained to be a killing machine. The competition between her and her sister Gamora was never pleasant. They were always at each other’s throats, each daughter trying to prove dominion over the other, and as Nebula constantly lost their sparring matches Thanos would replace another part of her with something to augment her abilities.
Nebula didn’t know what fun was until this very moment with Tony Stark. For a second, she almost seems like a normal human being whose every instinct hasn’t been crafted to kill. It’s actually a really touching moment and the first step of her redemption story.
