Episode X: The Reckoning: Chapter Eighteen

C-3PO was always on top of things. It was his job to do so. Since his creation all those years ago on the arid world of Tatooine, C-3PO was designed to help others. And now, he felt his help would matter more than ever.

Waiting for the right moment along with him aboard the ship that he had been stationed on for nearly two decades, the Tantative IV, was loyal rebel Chewbacca, faithful piloting companion, BB-8, and his best friend in the galaxy, R2-D2. Ben Solo had gathered them in a room before his departure and told them that, if anything happened to Ora, to take the Tantative IV and help her.

Of course, they never expected anything to happen to her. Or at least they hoped it wouldn’t come to that. But suddenly, as they stood on the bridge of the infamous rebel ship, there was a constant beeping from one of the consoles. It sounded ominous to Threepio.

“Oh my, that’s the signal,” he exclaimed.

Chewbacca growled, hurrying out of the room to the cockpit where he would pilot the vessel. BB-8 beeped worriedly while R2-D2 whistled.

“What are we going to do? Where are we supposed to go?”

BB-8 beeped confidently, rocking back and forth. C-3PO seemed taken aback.

“She has a homing beacon on her ship?” He raised his arms. “Thank the maker!”

R2-D2 whistled cheerfully.

“Come on. Let’s go help the Wookie.”

They left the room, hurrying to the cockpit where Chewbacca was already launching the vessel into hyperspace.

“Do not worry Ora. We’re coming.”

At one moment Ora was in a strange room talking to Kar-Aan, the embodiment of the Light. He was telling her that she needed to let go of the love for her parents which is something she refused to do. And then he told her that the first thing she needed to do was build a new lightsaber.

There was suddenly another flash of blinding light and when she opened her eyes she was back on the asteroid, sitting on the ground by her destroyed lightsaber. She grabbed the two halves of the broken hilts and suddenly a well of emotion began to rise within her. She bit her lip. She wasn’t going to cry. She was tired of crying.

So, for an alternative, she took a deep breath, calming herself. After releasing her anxiety she stood, walking over to her wrecked ship.

“What in Clargul’s name am I supposed to do?” she asked herself.

Suddenly, she heard a sound. It resembled the noise of a ship’s motor. When she turned around a vessel was entering the cave. It was the Tantative IV. Her jaw dropped.

“This can’t be happening,” she continued to say to herself. “I have to be hallucinating.”

She walked forward as the ship landed several yards away. She reached for her hip as if to grab her lightsaber and remembered with a sharp pang, that her lightsaber was gone. She was defenseless. If this was a hallucination there was a good chance she could be in big trouble.

All of that worry dissipated as the ship’s ramp opened and out of the ship appeared the droids and the Wookie named Chewbacca.

“Ora, we’re here!” the golden protocol droid named C-3PO announced.

She laughed.

“Oh! Am I glad to see you!” she exclaimed, rushing forward.

She vaulted forward, launching herself into the Wookie’s arms. Chewbacca growled kindly, rubbing the top of her head.

“I don’t know how you knew I was here but…thank you.” She was exhausted of crying but this moment plucked tears from her eyes. “Thank you so much.”
