A Movie Ranking: Benedict Cumberbatch

My introduction to Benedict Cumberbatch was via Star Trek: Into Darkness. It took no more than a single teaser trailer for me to know that he was a serious actor who I was going to like in the long run. The following movies I have watched with him have only reaffirmed my first notion. So, with no further delay, here is his movie ranking.

10. Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch

I tried to watch this movie on Netflix. I only made it about fifteen minutes. And while Benedict Cumberbatch is a great voice actor he didn’t do that great of a job bringing life to the Grinch. Continue reading A Movie Ranking: Benedict Cumberbatch

Here’s a Small Detail That Is Often Overlooked in ‘The Lord of the Rings’

Dogs. Yes, I said it. Dogs.

Middle-Earth is full of fantastic creatures, frightening monsters, ethereal beings, and awe-inducing worlds, so it’s easy to forget that the fictional world crafted by J.R.R Tolkien is so detailed that even man’s best friend gets a moment to shine in the film.

Last night while watching The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring I was watching a scene I have seen literally hundreds of times (the Nazgul rider approaching the Hobbit working outside of his home on a peaceful evening) when I distinctly noticed the dog that was highlighted in the scene.

I was kind of blown away. Whoa, The Lord of the Rings has everything. Even dogs. It was such a striking observation that I felt obliged to share it with you today. Lol.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have an incredible day.

The Stormtroopers: Part 13

FN-3043 tapped FN-1217’s shoulder. “I just saw Kylo Ren go through a door down there,” he said.

Seventeen looked in the direction that FN-3043 was indicating Kylo Ren had gone.

“Honestly, Double-Three, how can you think this is a good idea? Haven’t you heard the things that the Supreme Leader has done to those who upset him?”

3043 glanced sidelong at him.

“They’re never good,” 1217 finished.

3043 dropped his helmet, readjusting his grip on his blaster.

“I’m tired of following the rules. Our friends followed the rules and look, they’re dead. Why are we down here? Who are we fighting against? What are we fighting for? No one will tell us because no one cares about us!”

FN-3043’s expression grew sterner.

“Well, I’m tired of playing the mindless soldier,” 3043 continued. “I’m going to find out some answers. For you, for me, and for Two-Three. I can only ask if you’re with me?”

A strong gust blew Seventeen’s locks across his dark-skinned face, intensifying the moment.

“You know, if we get in trouble…we could be killed,” 1217 stated.

“Seventeen, that’s obvious.”

1217 nodded before he too dropped his helmet, his lips drawn in a determined line.

“Then I’m with you, Double-Three,” he said.

FN-3043 smiled.
