A Movie Ranking: Cillian Murphy

Cillian Murphy is no Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt nor is he even the likes of Channing Tatum or Jeremy Renner but he is one of Christopher Nolan’s favorite actors to work with and has utilized him in ways that have made him, as a Nolan fan, ultimately unforgettable. Today, I wanted to highlight him for this week’s A Movie Ranking. Enjoy!

5. The Dark Knight Rises

Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Matthew Modine, Anne Hathaway, Alon Aboutboul, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Daniel Sunjata in The Dark Knight Rises (2012)

In Christopher Nolan’s Batman movies Cillian Murphy plays Dr. Jonathan Crane/Scarecrow throughout the trilogy. In The Dark Knight Rises, he plays a small role as a judge under Bane’s cruel rule helping to prosecute Gotham’s righteous citizens. One of my favorite moments in the film is when he prosecutes one such Gothamite to exile instead of death but he exiles him by making him cross the treacherous frozen river. So, in actuality, he still charges him with death. Continue reading A Movie Ranking: Cillian Murphy

Fan Art Saturday

My Review of ‘Maleficent: Mistress of Evil’

I have one very blunt and precise word to describe this film: dumb. Why is it dumb, you may ask? Well, besides the captivating visuals and Oscar-worthy costume design the story was both confusing and boring with little to no willingness to make a really, really good story. I thought Maleficent was bad. I’m definitely of the opinion that its highly-anticipated sequel was worse. Far worse.

But Maleficent still manages to steal the show with her incredible powers, her flawless sense of style, her wit, and yes, that charming smile.

I’m giving this a very solid 77 out of 100 and 3 out of 5 stars. Do yourself a favor and don’t bother to watch this movie.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a splendid day.

Zorii Bliss: A Day in Kijimi: Chapter Six

The snowstorm was fierce, leaving Zorii half-blinded as she hurried through the empty streets. Civilians knew, when the snowstorms arrived, to find cover but she had a job to do. She wanted to leave this planet and to do that she needed to get to the client before he acquired the sudden urge to skedaddle. Even if that meant freezing due to the frigid temperatures that came with such a storm.

Yes, her form-fitting suit protected her from the elements but it didn’t mean that she didn’t feel the cold every now and then. And right now, she was the nippy temperature seemed to cut through the purple fabric of her suit more than ever.

Ahead, she could see the vague outlining of a building. She rushed forward, knocking on the building’s entrance; a dull wooden door. A few seconds later there was a voice. Continue reading Zorii Bliss: A Day in Kijimi: Chapter Six
