Daniel Craig has become an actor whose films I’ve started to enjoy and I thought it would be fun to highlight him for this week’s A Movie Ranking. So, let’s start this ranking.
5. Lara Croft: Tomb Raider
I saw bits and pieces of this film over a month ago and I was like, “What’s this?” I love the recent Tomb Raider game and the newest Tomb Raider movie isn’t great but next to this it looks like The Avengers compared to Justice League.
4. Cowboys & Aliens
I remember seeing the concept of this film years ago and the movie’s title had me intrigued. I mean, cowboys and aliens? Sounds interesting, right? When I finally did watch the film I was ultimately underwhelmed. But it’s better than Independence Day so I’m not mad.
3. Logan Lucky
If you love heist movies this is another fun one to enjoy. No, it isn’t like the Ocean’s trilogy but boy is it entertaining once the ball begins to roll. In this film, we get to see Daniel Craig in a different type of role as he plays the likes of a tough prisoner who you definitely wouldn’t want to run into.
2. Casino Royale
Daniel Craig’s first crack at playing James Bond was in this film and undoubtedly, he did a great job. Plus, the movie was pretty good with a surprising conclusion that had me like, “Whaaat?!” Thank goodness that this is the first James Bond movie I saw because it definitely left a good impression on me.
1. Knives Out
Knives Out would garner Rian Johnson his first Oscar nomination and for good reason. This is easily one of the best whodunnit films I’ve seen with Johnson’s classic plot twisty screenplay that leaves you constantly wondering what’s going to happen. And its conclusion is especially surprising and hilarious at the same time.
If you haven’t seen it yet I’d give it a look because, while it isn’t as great as the critics said it was, it is pretty good. The film would also garner Daniel Craig his first Golden Globe nomination and for good reason. It’s definitely his best role as Detective Benoit Blanc who brings the much-needed spice to what could’ve been a bland film.
Well, there’s my ranking.
I thank you for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day.
