This has been a fun year for Marvel, again. First, we had Captain Marvel which was a fun introduction to a powerful heroine. Then we had Avengers: Endgame which was expectedly brilliant. And last but definitely not least, we had Spider-Man: Far from Home.
I missed getting to see it in the movie theaters but as soon as it arrived on Digital I jumped at the chance to finally see this movie and it wasn’t long before I realized I was going to have a blast.
First off, if you’re wondering whether Spider-Man: Far from Home is better than Spider-Man: Homecoming, in short, it isn’t, but it isn’t worse either. I find that both films are practically the same in style, enjoyment, plot twists, and humor. But that’s actually a good thing considering that Spider-Man: Homecoming was pretty entertaining and clearly stands as one of my ten favorite Marvel movies.
Spider-Man: Far from Home is exactly as you’d expect…and then nothing like you’d imagine at the same time. Mysterio and Peter Parker’s relationship plays out in a way where you think you know where things are going and then you are slapped in the face as things change VERY abruptly.
This is when the movie turns from good to GREAT in an instant and leaves the viewer’s eyes riveted to the screen.
Peter Parker and MJ’s relationship in the movie gradually grows in a very awkward yet sweet way. It’s hands down my favorite Peter Parker romance in comparison to the relationships created in the other Spider-Man movies which are just icky. And what makes it even worse, the actors are supposed to be teenagers but they clearly look like adults.
At least in the MCU, the actors cast to play these high schoolers have young faces and can convince us that they really are teenagers. I love it!
I definitely enjoyed the action in this film more than the action in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Spider-Man was able to shine more and Mysterio was AWESOME!
All in all, Spider-Man: Far from Home was a really fun movie that managed to surprise me again and again and turned out to be the perfect final film of the Infinity Saga.
I’m giving this movie 94 out of 100 and 4.5/5 stars.
I thank you for reading and I hope you have a marvel-ous day.
