Here’s the Cast for ‘Loki’ and Who They Could Potentially Play

Loki is set to arrive in 2021 and it will be a fascinating series as it follows Loki’s journey after he escaped in Endgame in another timeline. The prospects of Loki in another timeline sounds absolutely thrilling and will surely deliver a bunch of surprises. I’m always checking on the progress of the Marvel Disney+ series like The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and WandaVision and while checking on Loki I realized the main cast for the series has been made! Yeah, how did I completely forget that exciting fact?

So, with no further delay, here are the actors that will occupy Loki’s story in his very own series.

Richard E. Grant

Richard E. Grant, hot off his appearance in The Rise of Skywalker as Allegiance General Pryde, will have another role under the Disney umbrella as a currently unknown character in the Loki series. From Grant’s track record, there’s a good chance he could be playing the villain in this series but just exactly who could that be, I have no idea.

As someone who is not very familiar with the comics, there is surely a slew of antagonists Grant could play but I do have confidence in him being the villain of the series.

Owen Wilson

Owen Wilson will make his MCU debut in Loki as a mysterious character who is currently unknown at the moment but leaked behind-the-scenes photos have shown what type of role he could be playing.

In this slightly fuzzy image, we see Loki looking up-to-no-good as ever with Owen Wilson’s unknown character walking beside him. He’s seen wearing a jacket with a strange symbol on it, giving the impression that this could be Earth, and then maybe it is, indeed, somewhere else.

If it is Earth, then what is Loki doing and who is this man he’s apparently talking to? Loki is always concocting schemes so it should be very interesting to see what type of trouble he will be creating in this movie.

Gugu Mbatha-Raw

I just knew Gugu Mbatha-Raw was going to make her MCU debut sooner rather than later considering that she too has been under the Disney bubble (she has appeared in A Wrinkle in Time and Beauty and the Beast.) For a while, I thought she would be a great actor to cast as the new Storm but she would end up in Loki and that’s just as exciting.

The question is, who could she be portraying? One of Loki’s allies in the comics was Amora a.k.a the Enchantress, a magic-wielding Asgardian who often found herself at odds with Thor and The Avengers. Besides her ability with magic, The Enchantress also uses her beauty to swindle men into serving her. Could this be an obstacle Loki faces in the series?

Or could Gugu Mbatha-Raw be playing someone else entirely? We’ll have to wait and see.

Sofia Martino

And finally, we have Sofia Martino who fans have speculated would play female Loki in the series. Turns out…there’s a certain behind-the-scenes photo that confirms that idea.

In the left photo, we see Sofia Martino appearing to get ready to film a scene. She’s wearing an outfit with a specific design on it that is the exact same design on Loki’s outfit in the right photo. So yes, I think we’re getting not just one Loki but two!

In a normal timeline, this wouldn’t make sense but this is an alternate reality. One created by the Avengers when they went back in time and altered history in 2012 by allowing Loki to take the Tesseract and escape.

This alternate timeline will feature a branch in the story and Loki will find himself face to face with a female version of himself which should be really fun to see.

Endgame has allowed the writers to get really creative with these series and I am ready for every bit of this story to unfold.

Which actor are you most excited to see star alongside Tom Hiddleston in this highly-anticipated series? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day.
