Nia Dacosta Will Direct ‘Captain Marvel 2’

Well, it seems that Captain Marvel 2, which will arrive in 2022, has found its director. Nia Dacosta, who made a name for herself after her indie-film, Little Woods, caught the eye of Hollywood, has been signed on to become the first black woman to direct a movie in the MCU.

I was already excited for Captain Marvel 2 but now I’m even more excited. It should be very intriguing to see how she sheds a brand new light on the title character and what nuances she can bring to the table for this sequel. Captain Marvel was a fun superhero movie but ultimately, it was forgettable. That’s partly because Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck didn’t direct the movie very well, providing little to zero tantalizing shots worth remembering.

For this superhero to get fully accepted by the overall fandom her sequel needs to be like Captain America: The Winter Soldier…epic! I hope Dacosta can deliver a powerful vision worthy of the likes of Captain Marvel.

Are you excited to see Nia Dacosta direct Captain Marvel? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day.
