Counting Down my 20 Favorite Trailers: #5: ‘Avengers: Infinity War’

These next five trailers are near and dear to my heart. They speak to the beauty of trailer making in distinct ways that makes my heart sing and I’m super excited to share them. Here we go with #5, Avengers: Infinity War.

From literally the first shot in the trailer to the last shot, this teaser is a bountiful feast of sheer awesomeness provided to the fans who had been waiting years to see Thanos finally arrive and boy, did he arrive!

We see that Vision has changed his look, adopting the Paul Bettany appearance, which shocked fans.

The music for this trailer feels gloriously ominous as the Marvel Studios logo plays paired with Thanos’ grim words as we see flashes of our favorite characters.

And then…Thanos appears, stepping out of a portal in all of his Josh Brolin-ified greatness as the music heightens, putting goosebumps on my goosebumps.

Spider-Man was given the ultimate upgrade which is just…still jaw-dropping to look at. I mean, just wow.

After we see King T’Challa say those iconic words, “Get this man a shield” a bearded Captain America steps from the shadows and pretty much my head exploded the first time I saw this. And it doesn’t even stop there!

This trailer’s brilliance is how it gives fans everything we could’ve wanted in a trailer while still retaining a lot of secrecy. Thanos’ Infinity Stone hunt is shown but his gauntlet is missing a few stones during certain clips in the film so that no one knows just what is happening in the story.

And we can’t forget that final shot with Thor meeting the Guardians of the Galaxy which was like:

Pretty much this trailer was fan service at the max, and what makes it so incredibly easy to still watch to this day is knowing that the movie actually lived up to the hype.

This trailer is the essence of Avengers: Infinity War captured in two minutes and twenty-four seconds. It’s incredible!!!

It almost seems like there couldn’t possibly be a trailer greater than this but there is and I’m sharing it tomorrow. I can’t wait.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day.
