Captain America: Secret War (THIRTY-NINE)

Steve Rogers and Sharon Carter were standing in the parlor of the Carter Estate, the moonlight from the clear night sky pouring through the beautiful white paned window. It had been several days since their final confrontation with Sarkras the Mindful and life was back to normal.

London wasn’t in flames. Europe was at peace. Or as at much peace as they were before Dr. Frost’s attacks. And evading Deputy Task Force’s grasp while helping innocents from small threats was once again Steve’s greatest priority.

With his hands in his pockets, he stared up at the moon. “So how’s Olivia?”

“She’s fine,” Sharon said. “She’s resting.”

He smiled. “That’s good.” He looked at her and as he did she looked at him. “I’m sure you know why I’m here.”

Sharon nodded. “You want to know if I’m staying.”

He turned to her. “You’re a great asset to the team.”

“I know Steve but I…” she shook her head, “I can’t give up on Olivia. Not now. I now know what I almost lost and…I’m determined not to lose it again.” She looked him in the eyes. “You know what it feels like to regain someone that you love.”

Will You Be Watching ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ On Christmas or…Nah?

The release date for Wonder Woman 1984 has been moved to December 25…Christmas Day! to replace Dune‘s December release. I, for one, am not overly enthusiastic about the movie. I was but now, after seeing more of Barbera Minnerva/Cheetah, I’m not liking her as the main antagonist of this Wonder Woman sequel.

And that alone is why I will not be venturing to the movie theater on Christmas to see Wonder Woman 1984. What about you? Will you go with your family and friends on Christmas Day to see Wonder Woman kick some butt on the big screen? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day.

Finishing ‘Sherlock’: A ThrillIng Ride from Beginning to End

I think Benedict Cumberbatch is now my favorite actor and it’s because of this show.

My first introduction to Cumberbatch was via Star Trek: Into Darkness where he played the villain, Khan. I remember seeing him for the first time in the trailer and thinking, “Wow, he looks cool.” My father took my sister and me to see it and while I pretty much don’t remember anything about the movie or Cumberbatch in the film his impact in the trailer, alone, struck me.

The second movie I saw that featured Cumberbatch was The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug where he voiced Smaug who, by the way, I feel is the greatest onscreen dragon of all time.

His voice rumbled through my very soul as I watched the film for the first time at an IMAX midnight showing with my family. He was, in short, amazing! He brought such a grandiosity, a sense of menace and real threat to Bilbo and the dwarves that he was one of the reasons why I still happen to enjoy The Desolation of Smaug whenever I get far enough to see the dragon.
