Qi’ra had returned to her quarters after the meeting to contemplate what she must do. She found herself feeling like she did all those years ago when she had been summoned to Dathomir to face Maul; afraid.
She wasn’t afraid of death or fearful of facing the rebels whose might had grown in the galaxy. She was afraid she was becoming like everyone she had despised for so many years. Of evolving into the very people rebels like Enfys Nest had been fighting for years.
She knew one day she would have to face Enfys again. She was a constant irritant who preyed off of the crime syndicates’ smuggling operations. But what she was doing was for the right cause. A cause whose opposition was Qi’ra’s stance in the galaxy.
She was the leader of the very syndicate who had ruined the lives of those on Savareen. She was a woman that years ago she would’ve herself despised. Before Tom Holland’s rendition of the iconic Spider-Man, I was never a fan of the character. The villains, however, that’s another story.
From Green Goblin to Kingpin to Doctor Octopus and Venom, Spider-Man has some of the greatest comic book villains of all time. I’ve just recently been introduced to The Vulture and Mysterio thanks to Spider-Man: Homecoming and Far from Home as well as The Prowler and Scorpion due to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and they are just as fascinating.

Ever since I was a kid watching the old Spider-Man cartoon Doctor Octopus has been one of my favorite villains of all time. It would simply be wish fulfillment to see this character on the big screen, in IMAX, played by some fantastic actor who’ll bring Doc Ock to life in a way I’d never thought I’d see. Benedict Cumberbatch portrays the character so impeccably that I can’t imagine anyone else playing the hero. It’s almost as if he was made to one day don the goatee and red high-collared cloak of the Sorcerer Supreme.
I’ve been waiting for his sequel since walking out of the theater on November 4, 2016 and while his sequel will have to wait it was just reported yesterday that Doctor Strange will appear in Spider-Man 3.
