QI’RA: Chapter Thirty-Six

Meeting The Emperor

Qi’ra followed behind the Imperial Royal Guard in a daze. The sound of her heartbeat filled her ears and senators and Imperial political figures went by in a blur as she tried desperately to breathe and not hyperventilate. It was kind of hard not to though.

She had heard many stories about The Emperor, some were blood-curdling. Now she was about to meet him, face to face, and she didn’t know what to think about it. To make things worse, she wasn’t accompanied by T-38 or Nienye.

The guard eventually stopped before a door, turning to her and looking at her. She looked at the guard and found it disconcerting that she couldn’t see anything behind his mask. No eyes, no expression, nothing. He was a faceless being wielding a deadly looking pike that she knew could kill her with one jab. She couldn’t mask her nervousness nor did she try to. Behind this door was The Emperor and she was afraid.

“The Emperor awaits you,” the guard said.

She nodded. She faced forward and as she stepped toward the door it slid open. Continue reading QI’RA: Chapter Thirty-Six

‘Terminator: Dark Fate’ Is a Travesty

Last year the gazillionth Terminator sequel hit theaters. It was greenlit by James Cameron who deemed it the third Terminator movie he always envisioned. Its first reviews were positive overall, painting a picture of a film that basically rehashes the story of Terminator: Judgement Day but adapts it for a modern audience. We decided to watch it yesterday and low and behold, it was one of the worst films we have ever seen.

Terminator: Judgement Day is basically my sister’s favorite movie of all time. She loves science-fiction movies, you see. To prove my point, her previous favorite movie was Interstellar. We were excited, and yeah, Terminator: Dark Fate started with a jaw-dropping bang, but it became very clear very fast that whoever wrote the movie didn’t understand what made the first two Terminator films so special; an amazing story.

‘National Treasure’ Isn’t As Good as I Expected

Okay, so I just watched The Sorcerer’s Apprentice the other day which I really liked and so yesterday I decided to tackle National Treasure which, ultimately, I wasn’t as fond of.

The story was kind of interesting but ultimately left me kind of bored. I will admit, the plot kept twisting and turning, leaving me slightly riveted until the end, but there was something so lackluster about this film.

Unlike Indiana Jones which feels like the greatest treasure hunt movie of all time, National Treasure just trudges along until it finally chooses to conclude. Now, there were some fun moments and yeah, I laughed plenty, but unfortunately most of those laughs were at the expense of the movie and not its humor.

I’ll give this movie 3 out of 5 stars and 85 out of 100. I wish it had been better.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a beautiful day.
