Okay, the latest episode of The Mandalorian was spectacular. Absolutely spectacular. The chapter was utter perfection from the very first second to the last second and its subject material has left plenty of Star Wars fans salivating. Today, I’m going to share my thoughts on that thrilling chapter and what it may mean for the future of this series.

SPOILERS AHEAD!

First off, I LOVE these Frog aliens. They are so freaking cute. Every scene featuring these two characters had me gushing. Ugh, it’s so sweet!

What is up with this show referencing ALIEN? Last week with the eggs and this thing jumping on Baby Yoda’s face?! 😱😱😱

Okay, so, to the nitty-gritty. When Bo-Katan and her trio showed up I’ve got to admit, I had to pause the show and cry a little. It was so shocking, so overwhelming, so rewarding. To have watched the cartoons and now being able to see these characters in live-action is just…it’s a dream come true.

Now, to the power and potential importance for the imagery above. This moment mirrors the scene when Din Djarin was rescued as a child by the Mandalorians. That moment changed Djarin’s childhood and turned him into who he is by the time of The Mandalorian.

Now Mando has realized that not all Mandalorians are like the ones that raised him. That he has, in fact, been raised by a religious cult of Mandalorians whose rules are far more strict than those of the modern Mandalore.

Is Bo-Katan destined to be his new mentor to show him a new way? A way that allows Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni to remove his helmet more often and further develop his character. It’s all very, very interesting.

Moff Gideon returns! Let’s go! Now we know the full extent of Gideon’s role in this series realized by one very important sentence: “Long live the Empire.”

He’s got a fleet, he’s trying to restore the Empire, he wants Baby Yoda for some reason, and he’s got the Darksaber, a weapon that Bo-Katan is trying to reclaim. (How did he take it from her in the first place? Will we see an awesome flashback of him taking it? Oh, the thought is exhilarating!)

And then, of course we had that Ahsoka name drop toward the end of the episode. Bo-Katan told Mando to go to the planet Corvus where he would found Ahsoka Tano in the city of Calodan. Both of these planets have never been mentioned in Star Wars so we will see a whole new world.

A world that wasn’t shown in the trailer which means there plenty of surprises that lie ahead.

The synopsis for next week’s episode says this: The Mandalorian rejoins old allies for a new mission.

Considering that Carl Weathers is directing the next episode it’s very palpable that we will get Cara and Greef’s debut in Chapter 12. If that’s the case, then could the last four episodes of the season have not been in the trailer at all?

That means we’d be totally in the dark of what to expect and that is fantastic!

All in all, The Mandalorian‘s latest episode was a blast and I’m intrigued to see where this story is going next.
