It’s Official: ‘Frozen II’ Is Better than ‘Frozen’

When I watched Frozen II for the first time there were some things I liked about it but ultimately I found it confusing and not as enjoyable as the first one. The Academy apparently agreed with my initial assumption and didn’t award the film an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Movie but after a year and three viewings I’ve reached a different conclusion; Frozen II is better than Frozen.

I’ve started coming to this realization after my second viewing earlier this year which opened my eyes to the story and left me dazzled by the complexity/darkness of the film’s plot. This wasn’t your typical Disney princess story or a typical Disney movie in general? There were no arched eyebrow-ed antagonists or cackling broads to combat. In fact, there wasn’t really a villain at all.

It was a story of personal transformation, of righting the wrongs of the past, and truth. It’s a beautiful story and a powerful conclusion to a story that already pushed the boundaries with Frozen.

Boba Fett or Cara Dune: Which Disney+ Series Would Be Better?

As with all acclaimed series spinoffs are imminent and there have already been some rumors that we may end up seeing several spinoffs spawn by The Mandalorian. Two of which focus on fan favorites: Boba Fett and Cara Dune.

Boba Fett has been an obscure character in the grand scheme of this series so far. He’s only been seen twice and fleetingly but that doesn’t mean he’s not going to play a large role moving forward.

These next four episodes of The Mandalorian are bound to hold plenty of surprises and what does that mean for Fett’s inclusion in this series? And is his story in this show destined to spring his very own Disney+ series featuring the retired bounty hunter and his adventures on Tatooine? Or could this series give Boba the chance to get offworld and continue his story in a way that feels both original and vastly rewarding?

Fan Art Wednesday

This week has has been amazing in terms of fan art and I can’t wait to share these pieces with you. Enjoy!

All of these pieces are so fascinating in their own special ways. My favorite is definitely the Happy Hour on Nevarro piece which is absolute perfection. It continues the story from Chapter 12: The Siege and looks like a fantastic piece of concept art. It was even given a shoutout by Gina Carano herself. 😱

This week’s art has been one of the best features I’ve ever done, and that’s saying something. What will I share next week? We’ll see…we’ll see…

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day.
