‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ and My Thoughts of the Cast

So, during last week’s Disney’s Investor Day, there were some welcome announcements. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was one of those pieces of entertainment that was further elaborated upon and the surprises were definitely there.

Of course, there was the obvious; Benedict Wong and Chiwetel Eijofor would be reprising their roles as Wong and Mordo, Elizabeth Olsen would be in the film for some reason (most likely as a secondary or the primary antagonist) but there was the unexpected.

In Doctor Strange, McAdams played Strange’s love interest, Christine Palmer and while I understood that she was designed to be in the movie solely to be a love interest I felt that she was very boring in the film. Like Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster, she brought nothing to the story and honestly, I was very much hoping she wouldn’t return for the sequel.

Well, she’s back and I’m not quite sure how I feel about it. It seemed like she had pretty much ended her relationship with Stephen Strange but somehow she’s going to play a part in this show. There’s a comic storyline where she plays a superhero called Night Nurse or something like that so maybe they could incorporate that into her story.

I don’t know. They just need to make her more interesting.

And of course there was the shocking news that left me delighted.

Exclusive Interview: Pop-Culturalist Chats with The Baby-Sitters Club's Xochitl Gomez - Pop-Culturalist.com

Newcomer Xochitl Gomez will be playing America Chavez, also known as Miss America. The character has grown in popularity in the last decade and now will be making her big-screen debut alongside Doctor Strange. How she will be incorporated in this story, I cannot wait to see.

So, there’s the big news. Outside of that, the plot of this film is still very dark but the movie will be filming soon so…that’s exciting!

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a lovely day.
