We’re less than two weeks away from the Super Bowl and that’s exciting for me. Not only do we get to see Tom Brady’s history-making team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, in a Super Bowl alongside the up-and-coming new dynasty called the Kansas City Chiefs led by the super impressive Patrick Mahomes but we’re also getting a new swath of Super Bowl commercials.
Super Bowl commercials are some of my favorite things to see all year and among Super Bowl commercials are exciting new trailers of highly-anticipated movies. Now, of course, this year is a bit different than the average year.
Last year around this time COVID-19 had just infiltrated the US but no one expected the disease to absolutely ravish our country the way it has. Well, it’s a year later and the world is already destined to be a different place after the toll so many people have had to go through.
Movie studios have been forced to put their imminent box-office winners on hold as month after month passes with no concrete end to this nightmare seeming to be in sight. But that doesn’t mean we may not get some nice surprises on February 7.
We just might get the first official trailer of James Gunn’s R-rated The Suicide Squad. The latest trailer for Raya and the Last Dragon just came out yesterday so it makes sense that we’ll see a potential shorter one-minute version of the trailer during a commercial break. But what I’m most hoping for is a surprise teaser from the second Marvel Cinematic Universe movie slated to (hopefully) come out this year and that is, of course, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
Over the years the MCU has become a more diverse franchise filled with a bunch of new and fascinating characters but it wasn’t until the overwhelming success of Black Panther did Kevin Feige and others behind the MCU realize that people were ready for movies featuring heroes of color in starring roles. Now, following Black Panther‘s footprint, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will become the first movie in the MCU (and I think ever) to star an Asian superhero. And it will feature a predominantly Asian cast!
This is unheard of in Hollywood and a chance for the MCU to do something really special. I’m super excited to see the movie and so yeah, I’m hoping to see the trailer during the Super Bowl.
Honorable mentions: I also hope we’ll get to see a teaser for Mission: Impossible 7. That’ll make my day!
I thank you for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day.
Heh, didn’t have you figured for a closet football fan.

I’m not a closet football fan! In fact, when I first started my blog I talked a lot about sports but then I realized I couldn’t get the best pictures (because they’re all copyrighted) and so I gave that up. But yeah, I love sports!
Football, basketball, track and field, tennis, soccer, hockey, baseball, you get the point. EVERYTHING! Lol.
