I’ve been watching a marathon of The Clone Wars for the past month and it has been so much fun but now I’ve reached the final season and I’ve got to say, I’m not a fan of The Bad Batch.
These four clone troopers feel like the brain child of a dumpy guy on a couch who decides to create four clones that he thinks would be cool. These bro-tastic clone characters are so sickening in their personalities and independent abilities that honestly, they drive me a little batty.
You’ve got The Bad Batch’s leader, Hunter, the Star Wars equivalent of Rambo from First Blood. You’ve got Tech, the nerdy clone who talks too much and can hack into everything. You’ve got Crosshair, the only clone of Clone Force 99 that I kind of like, with his sniper skills and almost Asian-like features. And then there’s Wrecker, the biggest of the batch who likes to blow stuff up and is pretty much supposed to be a “lovable” doofus.
When they first showed up in Season 7 of The Clone Wars I didn’t have that much of a problem with them…that is, until I found out they were getting their own series. Suddenly that breath of relief that I exhaled when their portion of the season had come to an end was instantly inhaled in shock.
“No!” I thought to myself. “Not an animated series about The Bad Batch!!!”
Of course, that doesn’t mean I won’t watch the show this year because at the end of the day I am a Star Wars fan and I want to see how this series connects with the larger universe but that doesn’t mean I’m going to like it. I was excited to learn that we will be seeing Fennec Shand in the series but I have a feeling she’ll probably only be in a couple of episodes.
All in all, this was basically just a rant post that I wanted to share. What do you think about The Bad Batch? Are you excited for the series? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.
I thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day. May the Force be with you.
