Last week I watched The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring for the first time in IMAX and it’s safe to say I was blown away. Considering that it’s my personal favorite film in the trilogy I was floored by just how perfect the movie was…again.

This week my family and I got the chance to see the second film in the trilogy and I was just as surprised.

The Two Towers is my least favorite film in the trilogy but it is also the movie that has the Helm’s Deep battle, one of the greatest cinematic battles of all time!!! I found myself on several occasions sitting in the movie theater wincing from the sheer noise of certain moments, like Treebeard’s epic roar when he discovers that so many of his fellow Ents had been destroyed. Woo, that part was loud.

All in all, the middle movie sets up what is going to be an epic finale in The Return of the King and I can’t wait to participate on that rollercoaster of epicness next week.
