‘Light of the Jedi’: I’m 37 Pages In and I’ve Got Mixed Feelings

Yesterday I finally got Light of the Jedi and I was excited but nervous. Would the first novel in this new era of Star Wars live up to the hype or would it underwhelm me like so many other Star Wars novels have in the past?

I only managed to get 37 pages into the book yesterday and I was appalled by how bland the writing was. Charles Soule is a great comic writer but his turn at novelizations has left me a bit unimpressed. The Jedi that I have met (Jedi Masters Avar Kriss and Loden Greatstorm and padawan Bell Zettifar) are pretty cool but overall, it’s just…blah.

I’m hoping the actual story makes up for the mediocre writing because, as of right now, this is not a great start to a new Disney era of Star Wars.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a fantastic day.
