‘Light of the Jedi’: 144 pages In and Now I’m Loving This Book!

Yesterday morning I began to read Light of the Jedi and wasn’t that fond of the book. Then, after taking a small break, I started reading it again last night and suddenly I was beaming with joy. I was blown away by the sharp contrast between the Jedi by the time of the prequel trilogy who had truly become hypocritical warmongers whose rebuttal for every disagreement ended in violence. The Jedi of the High Republic truly feel like guardians of peace and justice; powerful men and women whose selflessness is on full display for the galaxy when the Great Disaster happens.

I found myself just overwhelmed by how happy the book made me feel. I’m already beginning to love these new Jedi and if we ever get to see them in animation or live-action one day I’m going to flip! So yes, I was talking smack yesterday but that was yesterday. Today, I cannot wait to delve deeper into this story and get even more invested in these characters.

And The Nihil are actually pretty scary, lol. I thought they wouldn’t be but yeah, I have a feeling they’re going to be quite the opponent for the Jedi.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a great day.

‘Barry Lyndon’: A Sheer Masterpiece

There have been plenty of great movie directors over the years; David Lean, the genius behind an epic like Lawrence of Arabia and the rarely seen look at Japan’s role in World War II in The Bridge on the River Kwai, Steven Spielberg, the movie making mogul who brought us the unforgettable likes of Jaws and Jurassic Park, Christopher Nolan, a man who makes whatever movie he wants to make no matter how out there it may be, Bong-Joon Ho, the mad scientist of a movie whiz whose films never fail to impress, and Spike Lee, the director who is not afraid to show the power of blackness and how beautiful our stories can be. And then there’s Stanley Kubrick.

My first foray into Kubrick’s immersive world was via The Shining, a film that still scares the heck out of me to this day. As a little girl, I would simply hear the ghost twin girls and began to start getting weepy. As an adult, I hear the iconic shrill ring of The Shining and begin to sweat. It was from my traumatic experiences watching and listening to The Shining three times in my life that I have understood how amazing Kubrick is at making movies.

‘Spider-Man 3’ Has a Title!

I have loved the two previous Spider-Man films and I’m ridiculously excited for the third movie.

I’ve honestly been pumped to see this film since that jaw-dropping mid-credits scene but once Benedict Cumberbatch was connected to the movie I have become feverishly excited for the upcoming movie (because Doctor Strange is my absolute favorite!!!)

Yesterday we finally were offered the title of the movie: Spider-Man: No Way Home. This sounds very intriguing because it gives the impression that Peter Parker may be on the run. And if the Sinister Six are going to be a part of this he’ll definitely be in plenty of trouble.

The other bit of news we were given is that Spider-Man: No Way Home is coming out this Christmas. Talk about an awesome Christmas activity!

Ooh, I’m excited and I cannot wait to see what this movie is about.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a tremendous day.
