My Top Ten Favorite Marvel Female Characters: Updated

Marvel has a lot of characters and all of them have their own charm. To write these sort of ranking lists pertaining to the MCU is so much harder for me than something like Star Wars because I love so many of the characters but for now, I’ll give it a go. Enjoy!

10. Agnes

WandaVision' Broke the MCU's Reality and It Was Very On-Brand

Agnes a.k.a Agatha Harkness was an instant favorite of mine when she waltzed into Wanda’s life in the first episode of WandaVision and as the series continued and the mystery only deepened she only became more and more fascinating.

By the end, when she revealed herself to be a witch by the name of Agatha Harkness I just really, really enjoyed the character. I’m so relieved that they decided not to kill her off because I want to see her again in the future.

9. MJ

Spider-Man: Far From Home's Zendaya Explains How Thanos' Snap Changed MJ - CINEMABLEND

I love MJ. I couldn’t really get into Peter’s crush on Liz but his relationship with MJ is so cute I just can’t.

I love MJ’s nonchalant personality, I love that she figured out on her own that Peter Parker is Spider-Man, and I just love her character. Plus, Zendaya playing her is perfect. I’m so glad she’s part of the MCU.

8. Pepper Potts

Pepper Potts Superhero Name, History In Marvel Comics

The first lady of the MCU, Pepper Potts has been such an integral part of Tony’s story and has even gotten the chance to shine heroically in two instances; Iron Man 3 and Avengers: Endgame. I love that her character was always so independent and never took Tony’s crap, I love that she’s such a powerful CEO of Stark Industries, and I hope we’ll see her again in a future MCU installment like Armor Wars.

7. Peggy Carter

Peggy Carter From Captain America: The First Avenger | 4 Star Films

Peggy is such a great character. I love that she was such a strong-willed woman and wasn’t written as nothing more than a love interest for Steve Rogers. In fact, she helped found S.H.I.E.L.D which is so awesome. I’m so glad Rogers went back in time so that he could live his life with her. 😭

6. Nebula

The Untold Truth Of Nebula

Ever since I saw her for the first time in Guardians of the Galaxy I thought Nebula was such a cool character. Of course, I figured that she was going to die but she didn’t, surprisingly, and would return for three more films!

Now she’s an official member of the Guardians of the Galaxy and I just can’t wait to see where her story goes next because she’s undoubtedly one of the most interesting characters in the MCU.

5. General Okoye

What Is Okoye's Mysterious Role in Avengers: Endgame? | The Mary Sue

Okoye is one of my favorite characters because she’s a no-nonsense, powerful, not-a-fan-of-wigs leader of the Dora Milaje who is the primary backbone of Wakanda’s military might which is such a cool thought. Not only are the King’s personal guard a slew of powerful women but to have Okoye as the leader of those women is so special. I love Okoye and I can’t wait to see her again in Black Panther II.

4. Black Widow

I love the producers and writers behind Marvel Studios because Black Widow could’ve easily been simply the hot lady in the tight black catsuits. Instead, Marvel gave Black Widow depth, made her something far more interesting that just eye candy, and gave her a story that has felt so powerful.

Now we’re getting the last piece of the puzzle to her story in this year’s Black Widow and I simply cannot wait to see her kicking butt and saving the world.

3. Captain Marvel

I’m really hoping Captain Marvel is given a story in Captain Marvel 2 that’ll shine a greater spotlight on her humanity and gives her some more depth because I love her so much. Her power is extraordinary, her outfit is fantastic, and I just love how determined she is as a character.

I think something she will really have to deal with in her sequel is her relationship with Monica Rambeau and why it took over two decades to come back to Earth. I think that can be a way to maybe humanize her character and help give her that sort of depth that is sorely lacking.

Besides that, the character of Captain Marvel in the MCU is perfect.

2. Scarlet Witch

WandaVision' Made Wanda Maximoff a Fully Formed Character. What Now? - The Ringer

Well, Wanda Maximoff is now very interesting. She’s “destined to destroy the world.” She’s so powerful she can make her own reality. And she’s more powerful than Doctor Strange?!

She’s the type of character that makes great stories and now that her character has, in fact, been given so much depth thanks to WandaVision I just love the idea of her role moving forward in this franchise.

I really hope she moves closer to that villainous side in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. That’s going to be fun!

1.Valkyrie

Honestly, I just love Valkyrie. Ever since she appeared in Thor: Ragnarok drunk and falling off of the ramp of her ship I just thought she was so likable. Plus, the biceps and that Asgardian awesomeness just made her only that more cool.

Now she’s been made the ruler of Asgard and to have such a responsibility knowing her traumatic past and the death of her fellow female warriors is going to be an interesting storyline in Thor: Love and Thunder.

All in all, I love all of these ten ladies and their stories in the MCU and I can’t wait to see the growing list of fantastic heroines in this franchise.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day.
