It’s 9:30am ET as I write this and honestly I’m so amped up right now because I watched the finale of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Mortal Kombat back to back and both blew my mind. So, let’s start with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

I have loved Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes since Captain America: The Winter Soldier but it wasn’t until this show that my heart absolutely exploded with adoration for both these characters and these actors. For these last six weeks I have been on an emotional ride that has been so much fun to observe and that finale was perfect.
WandaVision was great and it had a decent finale but it left a lot of loose threads. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier does not leave anything to the imagination or any questions unanswered. Everything is wrapped up in a nice little bow while also very clearly setting up plot threads for a second season, which is very exciting by the way.
I clapped, I beamed, I laughed, and yeah, I cried a lot. There were some truly profound moments in this finale that really spoke to the theme of this series and yeah, as an African-American, this series just really hit me in the feels.
I have loved Captain America for years and this show just cemented that fact yet again.
Tomorrow I’ll talk a bit more about the plot points in the finale and what we could expect from a second season but for now I’m just thanking Marvel for this masterpiece because that’s what it was.
A+
