‘Encanto’ and ‘Marvel’s What If…?’ Finally Have Trailers

Disney and Marvel Studios have certainly provided a Thursday surprise with trailers for both Encanto, a Disney movie with songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda, and the long-awaited trailer for What If…? which is actually quite exciting looking. Here’s the trailer for Encanto.

In just one minute and thirty seconds, this teaser trailer is everything I hoped and thought In The Heights was going to be. It’s vibrant, the music covers me in chills, the characters are so beautiful and unique, and it looks like another Disney win that I will definitely be seeing in theaters this fall.

What a teaser!

And well, ho-ho! I was not expecting this trailer to be this good. I’ve watched it maybe five times already because it looks that amazing. To see so many beloved characters in so many different ways is beyond exciting and the animation style looks incredible.

I love how even though it’s animated I’m really feeling the flow of the action scenes. Judging from this trailer I think the storylines I’m most excited to see are Captain Carter’s and Killmonger’s stories. They look like really, really What If? scenarios.

The question is, and I know this will sound ridiculous but…is this going to be canon? Is there a chance these unique alterations of these characters could ever find their way into a live-action movie or show in the same vein of characters like Ahsoka Tano or Bo-Katan Kryze ending up in The Mandalorian? Because if that’s the case, I’m going to need Captain Carter in a movie in some sort of capacity asap.

What did you think about these trailers? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a fantastic day.

    1. She’s actually going to be playing Snow White in the live-action remake so…she may not be playing someone new but she will be Disney’s first live-action Latino princess.
