The ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ Trailer Is Finally Here!

After months of clamoring for the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer it is finally here. I have some thoughts but first, here it is.

I’m first going to start with the obvious positives.

A) Doctor Strange is back, has turned the lobby of the Sanctum Sanctorum into Antarctica (lol), and now the multiverse has been opened thanks to Peter not being able to stop talking. That’s totally on brand for Peter’s character and is definitely hilarious.

B) We’re totally about to get the Sinister Six and I am here for it.

C) I love Peter and MJ.

Okay, those are the pros. Here come the cons…

Why in the world did they hold that teaser for so long?! It wasn’t even worth the level of anxiety that Marvel and Sony brewed for everyone. This trailer was very basic and unfortunately didn’t give me one goosebump which is kind of sad. I thought Marvel was keeping it secret because it would connect to Loki but it seems this trailer could’ve dropped in June and it wouldn’t have mattered.

I was not expecting to see much in this trailer, that’s not why I found it lame. I found the music to not be awe-inspiring, I found the trailer’s plain arrangement of clips to be only slightly intriguing, and really, the best thing about this trailer is Doctor Strange and that’s not a great sign when I’m supposed to be more excited to see Spider-Man.

Honestly, I wish I could say this trailer was worth the wait but unfortunately, it wasn’t.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a fantastic day.

  1. I watched the trailer this morning and immediately jumped on the It’s a wonderful life/wish fulfillment plot that has been done over 100 times over the years. Without seeing any other trailers I can pretty much guess the basics of the film.

I am really wondering if there are any great story tellers left.

    1. I know. I honestly couldn’t help finding it similar to Wonder Woman 1984 with the whole “Be careful what you wish for” quote said by Doctor Strange.

I have a theory on why this story is going in the multiverse direction but I’ll wait for the trailer to simmer a little bit before I drop my thoughts.
