Marvel Studios Adds Four Unknown Movies for 2024: What Will They Be?

Is Marvel fatigue a worry for Kevin Feige? Apparently not with Marvel Studios announcing yesterday four unknown movies that will release in 2024 with these dates: February 16th, May 3rd, July 26th, and November 8th.

While these films are unannounced I have already taken the liberty to fill in the blanks for the potential last two unannounced movies of 2023 and the four films in 2024.

Blade: 2023

In 2019, Marvel Studios announced that Blade was coming to the MCU with two-time Oscar-winning actor Mahershala Ali set to star in the film as the title character. Suffice it to say, I’m very excited to see him as this character and I think it’s absolutely perfect casting once again.

Now Blade also a writer and director signed onto the film; a Black female writer named Stacy Osei-Kuffour (she will become Marvel Studios’ first Black female writer.) Turns out she’s already had some comic book adaptation experience considering that she was one of the writers who brought the critically-acclaimed Watchmen to life on HBO Max.

And now, even though it hasn’t been entirely confirmed, indie director Bassam Tariq is reportedly set to direct the film.

It’s only a matter of time before we start learning more about this film and I have a feeling we will be seeing this movie in 2023.

Fantastic Four: 2023

The Fantastic Four will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in an upcoming movie directed by Jon Watts - The Verge

Even though it doesn’t have an official announcement nor a cast Marvel Studios has been teasing the eventual debut of the Fantastic Four since 2019 and I believe, sometime in 2023. we will finally get that highly-anticipated film. And considering that the man who brought us the MCU Spider-Man trilogy is working on it, Jon Watts, it’s only a matter of time before we start hearing more about Marvel’s first family.

Captain America 4: February 16, 2024

Captain America 4': Anthony Mackie Officially Set to Return - Variety

Sam Wilson will be returning to save the day in the fourth Captain America film which will most likely come out in 2024. The film doesn’t have a director yet but The Falcon and the Winter Soldier writer Malcolm Spellman will be returning to write this new movie. Sebastian Stan’s return has not been confirmed nor can we expect Sharon Carter a.k.a the Power Broker to play a part in this next film but we do know this. It’s going to be a fun movie.

Shang-Chi 2: May 3, 2024

Shang-Chi' After Credits Scene Tease Ten Rings' Future – The Hollywood Reporter

Most sequels for a particular character’s franchise come out every two-three years and so, considering that Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings came out this year I think it’s safe to assume that Simu Liu will be getting his highly-anticipated sequel in 2024. (Let’s hope he shows up in the MCU again before then though.)

While there has been no updates on the sequel I’ve done some researching pertaining to that first post-credits scene and, well, Shang-Chi’s next challenge is going to be epic!

Eternals 2/Spinoff: July 26, 2024

Eternals' Trailer Clocks 77M Views, Tops For A Marvel Movie During Pandemic – Deadline

I don’t know how Eternals will factor into the MCU yet but it very well may be a story that could branch off into a sequel or spinoffs from the story that we’re about to get in November.

Marvel Studios’ First X-Men Film: November 8, 2024

X-Men chronological movie order: Watch the films in order

It’s only a matter of time for the X-Men to arrive in the MCU and I truly believe these next two years of MCU films will most likely set up the arrival of these very interesting mutants. It would also make sense that it would be the highly-anticipated final Marvel movie of 2024.

So there’s my theorized list of unannounced films to come out in 2023 and 2024. What’s yours?

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a lovely day.
