Spider-Man fans, hear me out. I know the excitement you’re feeling right now. I know you’re counting down the days until December 17 and each new day brings new waves of butterflies or rushes of extreme excitement. Trust me, I get it because I felt the same way about The Rise of Skywalker.
And then the reviews came out and they weren’t pretty. In fact, they were really bad but I still didn’t want to believe. I told myself, “It’s just the critics. They’re not real Star Wars fans.” And then I watched the film, despised it with all my being, and since then I’ve made myself never get blindly excited for anything ever again.
I understand the hype for No Way Home and there’s a part of me that thinks this could be one of the best MCU movie ever made. But I’m seeing these new TV spots with these terrible shots of unfinished CGI and well, the film looks bad. Literally.
I wish I wasn’t so pessimistic about this movie but I have a feeling No Way Home isn’t going to live up to the hype. I hope I’m wrong.

Watching the official trailer, my first thought was this is going to be on par with Endgame

I understand your trepidation 100%. I was very disappointed with Rise of Skywalker. All the pieces were there but poor plot choices tarnished what could’ve been a great movie. The good thing about superhero movies is that the genre tends to impress even if the plot doesn’t match up to it. Star Wars is a bit more cerebral so it needs to have more than just fun action fights.
I am excited to see how all the Spider-Man’s react with each other. Will they wonder more about this Multiverse phenomenon. Peter Parker is a nerd in every reality so he probably knows about the Many Worlds Theory. It will prove for some interesting dialogue. And. If. Toby. McGuire. Appears. I. Will. Lose. My. Sh@#%!
