The Hawkeye series has been steeped in mystery with every character seemingly having something to hide from someone. But now a new player has entered the chat; a guy who’s apparently such friends with Clint Barton he gave him a treasured Rolex. Who is this secret friend?

Clint won’t say who it is but I have a couple of theory.

A) It’s Nick Fury who is supposed to be dead so Clint wouldn’t willingly use his name to retain the secret. But they are good friends. I could see Fury making a cameo in this show in a post-credit scene to officially initiate Kate as an Avenger.

Or B) It’s freaking Matt Murdock. A few days ago it was announced by Kevin Feige himself that Charlie Cox would in fact be the one to reprise his role as Daredevil in the MCU. And we know that a certain someone is about to also make his debut in the coming weeks for this series. Considering that Clint a.k.a Ronin was going around New York taking people out and upsetting the criminal underworld maybe he became close friends with the Man Without Fear himself.

And then again, it could be just some random guy who gave Clint a Rolex for saving the world.
