My Spoiler Review of ‘The Book of Boba Fett’

Yesterday’s episode of The Book of Boba Fett was, in a word, fantastic. From the first seconds to the last, I couldn’t stop smiling or squealing with joy. So, now we’re going to talk about that episode and all of its delightful treats. Enjoy!

MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!

The Darksaber’s Return

First of all, I forgot Mando has the Darksaber so this scene had me screaming. I absolutely loved the choreography during this scene and how unsteady Din looked fighting with the weapon. Regular lightsabers are light weapons but the Darksaber is something else entirely.

I thought it was fascinating seeing Mando use the weapon and train with it. Apparently, he needs a lot more practice with it before he’s as good as fighting with the blade as Moff Gideon.

Oh, and by the way, Mando wielding the Darksaber is still one of the coolest developments that have ever happened in Star Wars. I can’t wait to see where this story goes!

The Flashback

We’ve heard the tale of Mandalore’s destruction via the Night of a Thousand Tears but never have we seen it visualized. Seeing Mandalore utterly destroyed by the Empire was something that I was not expecting. It’s kind of a shame that’s how we finally got to see the awe-inspiring world in live-action but, oh well.

And yeah, those K2-droids are officially terrifying.

The N-1 Starfighter

I didn’t think I’d ever see an N-1 Starfighter again, leastwise for it to become Mando’s new ship, but oh my goodness was it a perfect fit.

Watching Mando fly this incredible vessel with these literally jaw-dropping shots produced by Bryce Dallas Howard was a treat that literally got a tear to drop from my eye.

It was a special, powerful sequence that made me realize just how awesome that starfighter really was. Jon Favreau knows how to make us when it comes to The Mandalorian, doesn’t he?

Honorable Mention

I’d also like to add a little thank you to whoever actually took the concept of Grogu getting something forged (most likely armor) from The Armorer to fruition. I always thought it would be cute for him to get something Mandalorian-inspired to wear but now that it’s actually happening, I’m freaking out a little bit.

Will we see Grogu (and maybe Luke Skywalker again) in the next episode? I’m not sure about that but I will say this. We are going to see him again and that excites me greatly.

I thank you for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day. This is the way!

      1. Definitely not. Mando is going to keep the Darksaber and we’re going to watch him become the eventual savior of Mandalore over the course of the next season or two more seasons.
