Matt Reeves isn’t a director who has made a bunch of critically-acclaimed films but what he did with the final Planet of the Apes movie, War for the Planet of Apes, was nothing short of extraordinary.
In 2017, I listed the film as my favorite of the year, touting its remarkable storytelling and emotional conclusion for a story that seemed destined to be a mediocre franchise. Now he’s taken on one of the most popular fictional characters of all time, Batman.
After Christopher Nolan took on the Dark Knight, providing the character one of the most critically-acclaimed trilogies of all time, it seemed that any attempt at making another great Batman movie would never be seen again. And yet, as early buzz about The Batman is beginning to roll in, it seems like Reeves may have done the impossible and made a Batman movie on par with one of the greatest movies of all time, The Dark Knight. Check out some of the things people are beginning to say.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t find anymore but yeah, the word that’s spreading is that this movie is gooood. I absolutely can’t wait to see the film for myself next Friday and share my thoughts with you all immediately afterward. I hope it’s as dark as it seems.
I thank you for reading and I hope you have a fantastic day.
